History reference
With the development of aviation technology , control devices in aircraft have become increasingly complex. In the late 30s, there was a need to build a new instrument-making plant. Ramenskoye, as a suburb of Moscow, turned out to be an ideal place for a high-tech enterprise.
With the outbreak of the war, production was evacuated to Izhevsk, and after its end it was restored to its former place. In the 60s, the plant was reconstructed, modern equipment appeared that made it possible to produce sophisticated aircraft instruments. In 1961, the merits of the collective were awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.
The Instrument-Making Plant (Ramenskoye) in 1972 was the first to manufacture the new generation of accelerometers and gyroscopes, thanks to which navigation accuracy doubled. In the late 80s, RPZ was a leader among industry-specific enterprises, its products were awarded with VDNH medals.
Nowadays
Today the city of Ramenskoye is a major center for instrument engineering. RPZ is a leading enterprise in the city, with more than a thousand people. The plant was incorporated in 1992. In 2007, it came under the jurisdiction of the Avionika corporate association, which covers many aviation companies and research organizations.
