Cold drops

Unfortunately, not a single child can avoid a runny nose, and in order to exclude various complications after it, parents must start treating childhood rhinitis in a timely manner. The most correct and effective way will be the use of such a drug as drops from a cold.

All parents sooner or later face such a problem as a runny nose in a child. But they often do not know what is better to do in this situation than to cure rhinitis in a child. Some mothers, considering a runny nose as a harmless disease, do nothing in the hope that it will pass by itself, without medical intervention. But, of course, those parents who will take all the necessary measures to eliminate it will be right - they will go to the doctor and apply the prescribed drops from the common cold for children.

Runny nose is a consequence of inflammation of the mucous membrane in the nose. The causes of such inflammation can be both infectious and non-infectious in nature.

Infectious pathogens include viruses that enter the nasal mucosa during inspiration and develop within a few days, which, in turn, contributes to the attachment of another bacterial infection.

Non-infectious causes include sudden changes in temperature, allergies, as well as some environmental factors - dust, smoke, etc.

Often, only the nature of the mucous discharge from the nose will tell if the infection is in the case or not.

If a child develops a runny nose, he must be helped, since an outflow of the nasal mucosa occurs, which greatly complicates breathing by the nose. If even an adult feels severe discomfort from a stuffy nose and tries to eliminate this problem using drops from a cold, then such help is simply necessary for children. This is especially true for babies who spend almost all the time in a horizontal position, which further exacerbates the breathing problem. Therefore, the child cannot sleep normally, and if you take into account the method of feeding infants, then eat. Drops from the common cold can help the child, which have a vasoconstrictive effect, which allows you to remove the swelling of the mucosa.

If you do not treat a runny nose, then the complications of such a disease can be of a very different nature. First of all, it is necessary to remember that the smaller the child, the weaker his immune system. The body of a small child will not be able to resist the viruses attacking it for a long time and inflammation of the nose can very quickly go to other organs, which in turn will lead not only to bronchitis, but also to pneumonia. Another complication in children under one year of age is otitis media, that is, inflammation of the middle ear. In children under 3 years old, sinusitis is considered the most common, but chronic rhinitis most often occurs in children from 3 to 5 years old.

To alleviate the condition of the child during a runny nose, drops such as vibrocil, nazivin, otrivin, or nasoferon are best suited. These medications can also be used for children under 1 year old. The number of droplets and the frequency of instillation depends on the age of the child. Drops from the common cold for infants can be used for no more than 3 days. It is best to instill the apples in the nose at night, to facilitate the baby's night's sleep. In any case, do not treat the child with drops for more than one week. Before each instillation, each child's nasal passage must be thoroughly cleaned. Older children can do this on their own, and for babies you can use cotton swabs. With this procedure, babies should be in a reclining position, and for older children, it is enough to simply tilt their head back.

Most importantly, parents should not engage in an independent diagnosis and determine the most appropriate treatment, in their opinion. Any treatment can only begin after consultation with a pediatrician.
