At every physical examination, you must undergo fluorography. Without the results of an X-ray examination of the chest organs, it is impossible to get a job, without it, documents for admission to study will not be accepted. Of course, it is simply wonderful when during the examination no pathologies were revealed. And if the image shows a blackout in the lungs - what does this mean?
Is the blackout in the picture a sentence?
Even if fluorography showed a blackout in the lungs, you should not immediately panic. Was there a cough or was not there, was there a pain in the chest or not,
the temperature increased (especially in the evening) or was normal - the examination must be repeated. Maybe
this is a film
defect or a defective shot?
If the secondary result coincided with the primary one, then, again, one should not mourn fate, but go to the doctor and be sure to find out what causes the appearance of blackout. A dark spot in the picture is not necessarily immediately tuberculosis or cancer, although its appearance may indicate some serious disease.
Causes of dimming
In which cases there is a blackout in the lungs, what is it, what diagnosis can be made on the basis of a similar result of fluorography?
Darkening in the picture may occur:
- with problems with the esophagus, for example, when it expands;
- if growths have formed on the ribs or spine;
- during the development of tuberculosis or after a recent illness;
- with pneumonia, bronchitis (even at the stage of recovery).
A similar picture in the picture also occurs in the presence of the following pathologies:
- lung cancer
- atelectasis (lung collapse);
- fluid in the lungs ;
- pleural inflammation.
In addition, blackout may appear in the picture in a person with a long history of smoker. Thus, it is hard to say right away what caused the blackout in the lungs. What is it, only a specialist can determine, and then after a full examination. Maybe a foreign body is in the lungs? This often happens with excessively curious
children. The child coughs, there is a dark spot in the picture, but there is no serious illness near!
Dimming classification
Specialists distinguish the following types of dimming:
- focal;
- with the presence of fluid;
- segmental;
- equity;
- indefinite form.
It should be noted that the types of blackout are not directly related to diseases, and it is impossible to establish exactly - depending on the shape of the spot - the problem. Additional examinations are required, even if there is a symptomatology inherent in a particular disease. For example, focal blackout, characteristic of the initial stage of tuberculosis, in the presence of cough and fever, with the same probability may indicate pneumonia or transferred bronchitis. Round spots in the picture occur in the presence of bronchial asthma, fibroma, sarcoma, etc. Another example: there is a spot in the picture, but there is no cough. Often this indicates vascular pathology.
It is not necessary to guess independently what darkening in the lungs means. Let the diagnosis be made by a qualified doctor based on the results of various examinations. The latter, in addition to fluorography, usually include
computed tomography, blood, urine and sputum tests. An experienced radiologist should describe the blackout in the lungs (what is it - a banal marriage of a film, bronchitis or a more serious disease). This will help save the patient nerves and funds. The sooner the disease is detected, the better the prognosis for recovery. After all, it is no secret to anyone that health is the most valuable thing we have.
