Andrey Semin: biography and sports career of a football player and coach

Andrei Yurievich Semin is a Soviet and Russian professional ex-football player (he played as a striker and midfielder), currently a coach of the Znamya Truda football club from the city of Orekhovo-Zuevo. During his playing career, he played for such teams as Lokomotiv Moscow, Metallurg Magnitogorsk, Torch Voronezh and other Russian clubs. Since 1998, he has been engaged in coaching. Andrei Semin is the son of a famous football player and coach Yuri Semin.

Andrei Semin was born on August 26, 1969 in Moscow, the USSR. His father, Yuri Semin, is a well-known footballer in the past, so Andrei was instilled with a love of this sport very quickly. In the early 80s, Andrei was admitted to the football academy of Moscow Lokomotiv, where his father had previously performed successfully.

In 1988, he began his professional career, making his debut for the main team of the “Moscow railway”, but in unofficial matches. In 1989, he moved to the Dynamo Moscow club, where he played as a backup. In 1990, he became a player in Magnitogorsk Metallurg, where he spent only four official matches in the second division of the Union League.

In 1992, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, A. Semin joined the Fakel club from the city of Voronezh. In the match against Dynamo Stavropol on May 2, 1992, he replaced Viktor Vashchenko, making his debut in the major league. In total, “Fakel” spent only four matches.
