Northeastern Chord: Moscow Highway

The new Northeast Chord will run from the Oktyabrskaya Railway (western) and will provide an entrance to the capital of the Moscow-St Petersburg toll highway. The plan for the construction of new Moscow roads was approved in 2012. At the same time, the projects of both chords, both western and eastern, were agreed. At the same time, among other measures, reconstruction of the intersection of Leningradsky Prospekt and ul. Trade union with MKAD.

Along the periphery, the Northeast Chord should connect the northern and southeastern parts of the capital, that is, the most densely populated areas.

In the east, in one part, it will go along the MKAD. Such a highway will connect such major highways as Shchelkovo, Altufevskoe, Izmailovo and Otkrytoe. From the Businovskaya interchange to the ring road, motorists will disperse in two directions - to the northwest and northeast. At the same time, the Moscow Ring Road in the south will have to be expanded if the authorities decide to extend both chords to it. It is also possible that these highways will be connected by South Rockada. This was back in 2012, said the deputy measure for urban planning, Marat Khusnullin.

The northeastern chord, firstly, will connect the capital with the western bypass of Odintsovo, and secondly, it will go down in the east to the Veshnyaki-Lyubertsy junction. After that, it is planned to build a highway through which it will be possible to go to Noginsk.

  2. On a site from sh. Izmailovsky to sh. Schelkovsky.

In the first case, events such as:

  2. The construction of a flyover at the intersection with st. Youth.
  3. Construction of a pedestrian crossing at the place where the Northeast Chord approaches the MKAD.
  4. Reconstruction of the railways of the Kazan and Gorky directions.
  5. The connection of the chord with the Veshnyaki-Lyubertsy interchange in the vicinity of the Enthusiast Highway station on the 8th kilometer of the Moscow Ring Road.

The plan also provided for the construction of pedestrian crossings in the following areas:

  1. Between the streets of Vostrukhin and Red Kazan.
  2. Between the first Kazan clearing and the avenue of the First Mayevka.
  3. At the platform and exits (south and north) of the Vykhino metro station.
  4. Between Kuskovskaya glade and Mayevok street.
  5. Between the Karacharovsky highway and Kuskovsky.

Project Shchelkovo - Izmailovo highway

The project included such events as the construction of congresses:

  1. On Shchelkovo highway towards the center.
  2. Through Weaving street to the Circumferential passage.
  3. At Okruzhnaya passage in the direction of sh. Enthusiasts.
  4. From Shchelkovo highway towards the Open Highway along the chord.

As well as arrivals:

This section of the Northeast Chord is equipped with three overpasses. It is planned to build a tunnel into two lanes, two aboveground and eight underground passages.

As already mentioned, it is possible that the two new highways North-East and North-West will be connected by South Rockada. The latter will begin on Rublevskoe highway, go to New Riga, and then to Aminievskoe highway. However, other projects are under development. In the event that the chords are stretched to the Moscow Ring Road, instead of the PTC, a triangle is obtained. The decision in this case will depend on which project will be cheaper. The drawback of the crossways is that it has recently been clearly manifested in such a large metropolis as Moscow. For this reason, the northeastern chord will be stretched across the entire city.

Travel along the two ramps of the congress, as well as the railway overpass across the highway. Enthusiasts opened back in 2012. Among other things, a section of the main road was built, with a length of almost 2 km. In total, the project covers about 25 km of the roadway. The plot of CKT between sh. Enthusiasts and Izmailovsky should be commissioned in 2015.

Estimated project cost

It is estimated that the construction of the Northeast Chord will cost the Moscow authorities 70 billion rubles. Khusnullin in August last year announced that the costs could be no more than 30 - 35 billion rubles.

The authorities had to find the optimal balance between cost and bandwidth of the future highway. In the event that a large number of various kinds of artificial objects will be built, the track will become faster, but also more expensive.

Competition: section from the Shchelkovo highway to the Open

At the beginning of this year, two flyovers were opened between the Enthusiasts highway and Izmailovsky. Competition for the construction of the next site was announced in December 2013. Its results were summed up in early March this year. It is planned to build at least a three-four-lane highway in only one direction. The road will run along MK MK from Schelkovo highway to the street. Losinoostrovskaya. The length of the plot will be 3.2 km. This is approximately 10% of the total length of the chord. According to the project, the following activities will also be carried out at this site:

  • the construction of a transport interchange in the area of ​​suppression of the chord with the Open Highway;
  • the construction of two exits to the Open Highway from the outside of the highway;
  • a driveway under the Mytishchi overpass with the possibility of a U-turn.

In order for motorists to have an exit from the Shchelkovo highway onto a chord towards the center, an overpass will be built. In the future, it is planned to build another one. The right-hand congress will be organized on Losinoostrovskaya Street.

After the construction is completed, the Northeast Chord, the diagram of which is presented a little higher, will connect many important areas of the city. In 2014, 90 billion rubles were allocated for road construction in the capital. At the same time, it is planned to commission 76.6 km of newly constructed and reconstructed roads.
