In some cases, only 20% of women suffering from this disease have any symptoms. About 80% of women with uterine fibroids identify it absolutely by accident at a routine examination or when they come with a complaint about another disease. But timely treatment started is the key to success!

Myoma (fibroma) is a benign neoplasm consisting of muscle fibers and connective tissue. The main factors that trigger the pathological cell division: hormonal disorders, frequent and complicated abortions, inflammatory diseases of the female genital area, heredity, chronic infections, constant stress and environmental influences.

As you know, this tumor lends itself well to treatment, because it completely lacks cancer cells, but we must not forget that if you do not treat the disease, then such a fibroid can develop into a malignant formation. Therefore, when such a diagnosis is given to pregnant women (and non-pregnant too), they are scared, although uterine fibroids are not a sentence, timely treatment is a guarantee of getting rid of this disease without negative consequences.

Outwardly, it looks like an elastic seal with a rounded shape. Its size can be so small that it is possible to see the fibroids only with the help of ultrasound or radiography of the uterus. It can also reach very impressive sizes and weigh up to 1 kg. In addition, with myoma, bleeding is often found, especially with nodular myoma.

It is such a myoma that is more dangerous and more often caused by hormonal disorders, a high level of estrogen. In practice, multinodular uterine fibroids are often found. Dense numerous nodules form on the walls of the uterus; their sizes sometimes reach a three-month-old embryo.

Symptoms, both with nodular and with multinodular myoma, are almost the same:

  • heavy periods, sometimes with blood clots;
  • with a complicated course of the disease, severe pain in the lower abdomen is possible giving in the anus;
  • violation of the cycle;
  • pain during sexual intercourse;
  • frequent urination and constipation - if nodular myoma of the uterus close to the pelvic organs;
  • infertility.

Nodular myoma of the uterus - treatment and diagnosis

Modern medicine uses different diagnostic methods. The most effective way is ultrasound of the uterus. Having a similar disease, the uterus enlarges and deforms.

Depending on the severity and form, appropriate treatment is prescribed: conservative or surgical. If surgery is prescribed, do not panic, because an attempt to treat with hormonal drugs will not bring any results. The maximum of what you will achieve - temporarily slow down its growth and weaken the expressed symptoms.

Nodular fibroids of the uterus can be removed in different ways (only the neoplasm or the organ as a whole) - it all depends on the specific situation, the individual characteristics of the woman and the course of the disease. If, in addition to fibroids, a woman reveals a number of other diseases of the fallopian tubes and uterus, then in such cases the removal of the entire uterus is indicated.

The operation itself can be carried out in several ways: intravaginal, abdominal and laparoscopic. Only the doctor who observes you can make a decision.
