Almost all fish have their own seasonal preferences in complementary foods, which are associated with weather conditions and the existing forage base in the reservoir. Carp bait is also selected taking into account the time of year.
With the warming of water in April, immediately before spawning, entire schools of this fish rush into small rivers for active feeding. At this time, such a carp bait is used as animal bait, especially a dung worm. Many fishermen, based on their own experience, know that aromatization of nozzles during this period is absolutely not effective, since natural odors are more attracted to fish.
The situation completely changes after the end of spawning. At this time, the carp bait is used with the addition of substances with a pungent odor. In this case, the bite significantly increases.
The best flavor is vanilla, added at the rate of up to three grams per kilogram of bait. If the weather is warm, then from mid-spring, crucian carp begins to respond to sweet fruit odors.
On hot days, anglers prefer to catch in strong bodies of water. At this time, due to the increased oxygen content in them, the catch is much more productive than in a weak course.
The bait for crucian carp in the summer should be large enough: it is a dung worm, steamed barley and wheat, canned corn. This is explained by the fact that the beginning of June is characterized by the presence of a large number of small fish. She actively devours the nozzle, not even letting her touch the bottom.
Therefore, complementary foods in the summer must be prepared with a significant amount of sufficiently large ingredients. This will attract large individuals and somewhat discourage various small inhabitants of the reservoir. As a rule, in the summer months, vegetable carp bait works better, although the use of artificial and natural flavors also positively affects the result of the catch.
The weather conditions in early September are not much different from the end of summer. But already at the end of the month a noticeable cooling is felt. At this time, it is better to go fishing during the full daylight hours. The bait for crucian carp at this time is already being used somewhat different, of animal origin. These are worms, bloodworms, maggots. In the fall season, live components are also added to lure. And in cooler times, it is advisable to darken them a bit, for example, using special dyes.
Of the flavorings, anglers most use seasonings: dill, cumin, coriander. Although in some bodies of water, mostly non-freezing, additives with a sweet smell: chocolate or vanilla, have also been successfully used.
These observations on gastronomic preferences are common. However, each more or less experienced angler himself eventually understands what kind of bait to fish for, not limited to one particular species. If the choice is made correctly, then the extraction will certainly be interested in the proposed bait.
Although the crucian at first tries the nozzle very carefully, it is easy to notice its bite with sensitive tackle. At the same time, the behavior of the float can be different: it can tremble in place when the fish tries the bait, go to the side or under the water, when it raises it above the bottom.
