Cherichenko Irina Vyacheslavovna was born in the Murmansk region in 1963. She was born in the small town of Polyarny with a population of less than 20 thousand people.
Her father was a military officer, served as an officer in a submarine. Mother came to Polyarny before marriage. She came from Ukrainian Melitopol by distribution. The film takes place in 1940. The main characters are students of the average ninth grade of an ordinary Soviet school. These schoolchildren will literally come into adulthood tomorrow, so they are intensely learning to love and understand each other and themselves.

The spark goes to support her friend at a difficult moment in her life, even despite warnings from her parents about possible unpleasant consequences.
At this time, the girlfriend of Iskra Vika, the school leadership urges to publicly renounce his father. She refuses, then they call Polyakov and give her the task, as the head of the class, to organize a meeting and, with shame, expel the daughter of the aircraft designer from the Komsomol. The spark refuses, in a fit of feelings fainting. She is saved by the director, who takes her to a medical office and praises her for displaying sincere human feelings.
