Hockey biography
Brylin Sergey was born on January 13, 1974 in the capital of the Soviet Union. From childhood he began to get involved in hockey, and even in the little boy one could already notice the makings of a good striker. The first to see Brylin’s potential were the coaches of the Moscow CSKA children's team, and since then he began to play in this prestigious club.
In the main team of CSKA Brylin Sergey made his debut in 1991. That season, the young striker played 36 matches. In them he managed to score 6 goals and make 6 assists. In general, Brylin spent three seasons with CSKA, during which he managed to take part in 117 matches, excel 15 times and make 16 assists.
Relocation to the NHL
In 1992, a promising hockey player was "drafted" by the New Jersey Devils. Sergey played the first match for the new team only in the second half of the 94/95 season. Before that I managed to play half a season for the “Russian Penguins” and “Albany RR”. In the debut season, the hockey player spent 38 matches and scored 17 goals in the goal + pass system, 3 of which were already in the Stanley Cup playoffs. The start in the NHL could be called successful.
On the whole, Sergey Brylin spent 13 seasons as a member of ND Devils, excluding two half seasons as part of the farm club of the main team - Albany RR, and one season 04/05 as part of Chemist due to a lockout in the NHL . Almost every summer, an athlete with his family came to rest in Moscow.
The most productive for Sergey was the 2000/2001 season. For 75 games he managed to throw 23 goals into the opponents' goal and give 29 assists.
Homecoming
Brylin Sergey left the NHL only in 2008. The leadership of the team did not want to continue the contract with the 34-year-old striker, and the hockey player decided to return to his homeland. In the same year, Sergey joined the ranks of the KHL SKA club from St. Petersburg. The coach of the St. Petersburg club Barry Smith personally phoned him and made an offer that the hockey player could not refuse.
The talented striker was immediately offered the place of team captain, and Sergey agreed without hesitation. He used to bear responsibility not only for himself, but also for his partners on the site. In the St. Petersburg club, Brylin spent three seasons and managed to take part in 155 matches, in which he scored 24 goals and gave 32 assists.
His family moved with him to St. Petersburg, the eldest daughter began to go to a Russian school. None of Sergey’s children had problems with the language, since everyone spoke Russian at home.
Before the end of his career, Sergey Brylin managed to play another season for the Novokuznetsk Metallurg, taking part in 41 games, and collect a total of 9 points on the well-known hockey system.
But he still could not find himself in the Russian hockey community, and in 2013, as previously mentioned, Sergey Vladimirovich began coaching in the overseas league. He was offered the position of assistant coach for the Albany Devils team. He continues to hold this position and resides in the United States.

The international hockey player career began in 1992 at the youth European championship. He won the bronze with the team, playing in 6 matches, in which he distinguished himself once and also gave one assists.
Then there were two youth world championships. The first ended in failure - 6th place, the second team completed more successfully - won bronze medals. Brylin spent 14 matches for the youth team, in which he scored 12 points.
In 1996, he made his world debut for the main team. The team took 4th place, and Sergey played 8 matches and scored 3 goals. The next international tournament for Sergey was the 2007 World Cup. The Russian team won the bronze. Brylin played only two matches, but without a doubt, he deserved his medal.

Sergey Brylin, whose photo has rarely appeared recently in authoritative sports publications, has contributed to the development of domestic hockey and has never refused to play for the national team of his country, as many modern NHL stars do. In his opinion, a hockey player should make a name for himself on the ice, and not outside, drawing attention to his person with scandals and rumors.
