He spent all his childhood and youth in his native Germany, but after graduating from high school he went to graduate in the United States. He enters Columbia School of Cinema, located in directly in Hollywood. There he studies the art of filmmaking, and quite successfully.
His first attempt to create his own film was made back in 1993, when the short film Heaven !, which was not officially translated into Russian, was released. The total tape length was 45 minutes.

Among the most successful and well-known films, to which he had a hand as a film director, one can distinguish films such as “The Time Traveler’s Wife” (2008), “RED” (2010) and “Flight Illusion” (2005), which was shot him first after moving from Germany to the USA. The film is played by the notorious actress Jodie Foster.
These three films are quite popular with viewers, and professional critics have praised many of his films quite highly.
In addition to full-length cinematographic films, Robert Šventke is the director of the acclaimed series “Lie to Me” (2009-2011), where the famous actor Tim Roth played the main role. The plot of the series is based on the book of psychologist Paul Ekman, who believes that verbal gestures and facial expressions can tell a lot about a person, including, having studied all the facial and verbal signs, you can recognize a person lying or telling the truth.

Today, his talent is highly appreciated, so he is treated with due attention and respect. However, a small list of works in the director’s portfolio suggests that his services, although highly valued, are still not in great demand. Be that as it may, Robert Schwentke deserves attention and respect.
