- take part in the development of instructions and contracts;
- give instructions on production to heads of departments of the enterprise;
- independently resolve issues that are within its competence;
- make proposals to the director regarding the improvement of the work of subordinates.
The chief engineer is responsible for the failure to fulfill his direct duties, since often such failure leads to certain material damage.
