Interestingly, the name of the series can be translated from English as “Raven Tree” or “Raven Village” (which is much more harmonious). To date, only the first season has been completely filmed, which to some extent continues the tradition of such a popular show as The Vampire Diaries. Of course, attempts to make branches from the main plot were earlier, but the Diaries were the most successful.

In the first season of the series "Ravenswood", the actors obviously do not finish the game emotionally. However, do not be so negative about the project. The teaser for the series promised a lot of mysticism and a tense atmosphere. Think of at least a night road, a lone raven on a branch, and a pistol forgotten by someone in a desk drawer.

Ten episodes - is it a lot or a little for the first season? Since this is a spin-off, the cast is much more important in the Ravenswood project. In the serial film "Ravenswood", the story tells of five heroes who live in one small town. Their fates are intertwined in a single chain of events, which begins with an ancient and deadly curse. If they want to survive, then they have to unravel secrets from the past.
The action takes place in a fictional city, which is located in the state of Pennsylvania. In the opinion of a man who has not watched the original series, in the Ravenswood spin-off, the actors very much imitate the characters of another similar film - Haven. Mysticism and secrets usually attract King fans to watch, but they are not in this story.
Who did the best job
Actors present the series "Ravenswood" in different ways, but not stereotyped, as some reviewers believe, but rather quite voluminously when viewed through the prism of the spin-off genre.
Subjectively, the best actor and singer in the cast is Tyler Blackburn, who perfectly played the role of Caleb Rivers. Of all the others, he is the most individual and deep. From the first episode, Caleb has attracted attention as a seeker of truth, which can shed light on some family secrets. Although in the series there are plenty of them without the Rivers family.
Undecided on the main character engine, suppose it's Miranda Collins - Nicole Anderson plays it in Ravenswood . Of all the other actors and actresses, she is remembered for her most logical behavior in certain situations.
Cast
Maybe the series “Ravenswood” does not reach the best examples of the genre, the actors nevertheless played out with dignity. Not without reason among similar shows celebrate such a successful project as the X-Files. Perhaps they are similar, but, unlike the stars of the “secret”, these actors are almost unknown, even those who “open” the series have a little more than a dozen paintings in their filmography.
The central character of the whole story, Caleb, who practically threatens anyone who does not listen to the wishes and rights of his friends, clearly deserves respect. Of course, describing the series, the author is guided only by what directly happens on the screen, and therefore there is no and cannot be a comparison with the original ("Pretty Little Liars").
In the Ravenswood series, actors were not selected at the request of fans. So it was with the multi-part story about a single Michaels family from the Diaries.
What is the achievement of the series?
If you carefully look at the photos presented in the article, you will understand that in the film "Ravenswood" the actors and the roles played by them look organic. Replace someone - and the serial show will lose a certain charm. As you write this article, you are convinced that the selection of actors was carried out in good faith. If the original resembles an old youth thriller about teenagers who are trying to hide a crime, then the spin-off is “Woman in Black”, or “Destination”. Although the theme of the city, which admits guests and does not want to let go, is not new, however, we must pay tribute - Ravenswood is completed at the level.
Spin-off as it is
Having discussed the actors, as far as ten episodes of the season allow, we will move on, perhaps, to the reason for creating this article. Too many television projects resort to the technique of creating branch plots. The first such attempt was the creation of a spin-off about the Buffy vampire hunter. Perhaps there were others.
What is the failure or success of the spin? Initially, what attracts a fan of the original series is a memorable character who was among the main and additional at the same time. In "Ravenswood" they took not quite suitable characters, which were not described in too much detail in "Deceivers", and six of them appeared. Hence the small rating and the closing of the second season.
Perhaps if at least one of the deceivers entered Ravenswood, the spin would have been in a much more advantageous position. But, as they say, the creators know better. The series is worth watching - it is certainly a worthy project.
One thing is certain - the continued creation of spins in the future.
