Carnitine chloride is a drug in the form of a solution that is intended for injection. As part of a 1 ml solution of the drug, there are 100 mg of the active substance, the rest is distilled water. Carnitine chloride is colorless or almost colorless and is used in metabolic therapy.
The specified tool relates to non-steroidal preparations. Carnitine chloride helps stimulate metabolic processes, as it takes part in different parts of energy metabolism. The drug has antihypoxic, anabolic and antithyroid effects, it activates lipid metabolism, and also increases appetite. Carnitine helps reduce basic metabolism, slow down the breakdown of carbohydrate and protein molecules. Also, this substance contributes to the fact that mitochondria penetrate through membranes and the splitting of fatty acids occurs, after which acetyl coenzyme A is formed, which is necessary for the formation of ketone bodies. It is also used in the synthesis of choline and its esters, to form adenosine triphosphoric acid. Mobilization of fat from fat depots occurs. There is a competitive displacement of glucose, and therefore this tool is effective in acute hypoxia and other critical conditions.
Carnitine chloride helps to restore the alkaline reserve of blood (while it does not affect its coagulability), it helps to reduce the formation of keto acids, increases tissue resistance, activates aerobic processes and inhibits anaerobic glycolysis. Also, the drug has an antihypoxic effect and accelerates reparative processes.
Carnitine chloride - instructions for use
The drug is rapidly excreted, and after three hours it does not remain in the blood. It also quickly enters the heart muscle and liver, a little slower in the muscles. The withdrawal of this drug is carried out by the kidneys.
The drug is prescribed:
- with acute circulatory disorders of the brain, such as transient ischemic attack and ischemic stroke;
- with discirculatory encephalopathy;
- in the presence of traumatic and toxic lesions of the brain;
Contraindication to the use of carnitine chloride is individual intolerance.
The drug is administered only intravenously and very slowly, not more than one drop per second. If the patient has acute circulatory disorders of the brain, then for 3 days he is given 1 gram of the drug once a day, and then for a week at 0.5 g. A second course is carried out after two weeks also at 0.5 grams of carnitine chloride for 3 -5 days. If you need to use the drug in the recovery period, then for 3-5 days, 0.5 grams are administered once a day and the course of treatment is repeated after two weeks.
Side effects
The use of this drug may cause allergic reactions, and those who have uremia may develop muscle weakness. If the drug is administered quickly, then there is pain in the veins, which disappears immediately after a decrease in the rate of administration.
Carnitine Chloride Reviews
The drug helps in the treatment of diseases such as multiple sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, parkinsonism, brain atrophy. Patients who have taken carnitine chloride indicate that it is truly effective. But the peculiarity of the use of the drug for these diseases is that it must be taken for a long time, that is, for several years. Patients note that at the same time, movement improves significantly, gait unsteadiness, tremors disappear, exacerbations of these diseases practically disappear. Some people who have been treated with this drug gave birth to completely healthy children.
