In this article, we will tell you how to keep the maximum nutrients in fruits such as apples for the winter. After all, how to hunt to feed your exhausted body with vitamins on cold days! One of the good and easy ways is to preserve apples in syrup for the winter. Usually this is done very simply, only granulated sugar, fruits and water are needed. Weโll complicate our recipes a bit, for example, add vinegar, which will give apples an unusual sweet-sour taste, and they can be stored for a very long time.
Canned Apples with Ginger and Cinnamon
To enhance the taste and aroma of winter harvesting, we added spices in our recipe: ginger, cloves and cinnamon. So, we need the following ingredients: 300 ml of wine or apple vinegar, 0.4 kg of granulated sugar, 25 grams of ginger, one stick of cinnamon, a kilogram of apples (ranetki) and a teaspoon of cloves. Apples in sugar syrup are prepared according to the following recipe. We sort out our fruits, remove the remaining leaves and tails, carefully wash under running cold water. Pour vinegar into the pan, add sugar, chopped ginger root, cinnamon, and other desired spices.

We put on a small fire and, until the sugar dissolves, stir, then - boil. After boiling, turn off the fire, and leave the saucepan with the finished syrup on the stove. So that the peel does not burst, we pierce the apples with a fork and send it to the saucepan for the syrup. A few minutes, until the fruits are a little softer, cook. But they do not need to be made too soft. We shift the ranetki with a spoon into warm, sterilized jars. Meanwhile, over high heat, boil the syrup again, for exactly five minutes, filter and pour into jars. We roll the lids - and thatโs it: the apples in the syrup are ready for the winter. We remove for
storage. The shelf life of such conservation is one year.
Preservation of apples with slices
These fruits are very tasty. They are quite suitable for eating instead of dessert. The main condition is that they must be strong. We need: apples - two and a half kilograms, water - two liters, granulated sugar - half a kilogram, citric acid - a teaspoon, without a slide. It is not known why, but according to this recipe, fruits are canned only in three-liter glass jars. Cook apples in syrup slices. Wash, wait until the water drains, cut first into four parts and remove the core, then - cut them into slices. We boil water with citric acid and granulated sugar, dip the slices in syrup, boil for a couple of minutes, it is not necessary to bring to a boil, it is important to thoroughly stir them so that everyone is in the syrup. It is important that they remain intact, not digested.
With a scalded spoon that has holes, we transfer the slices into a dry
pasteurized jar, pour boiled syrup again to the top and roll up the lids boiled before. Turn the jar upside down and wrap it for a couple of days. You can store at room temperature.
Preservation of apples in the easiest way
To complete this recipe, we select small fruits, hard varieties, and try so that they do not have any flaws. We prepare three liters of water and 0.4 kg of granulated sugar for syrup. Thoroughly wash the apples, those that are larger, cut into pieces and put in pre-sterilized three-liter jars somewhere on ยพ. We boil water and fill it with jars to the very top.
Leave for the night, let cool. In the morning, pour water into a separate pan, add sugar, bring to a boil and immediately fill the jars to the top. We roll them with sterilized lids and set them to sterilize for 15 minutes. Apples in syrup for the winter are canned. Turn over, wrap. After a day, we store it in a cool, preferably dark place. With this recipe, vitamins are stored to the maximum.
Preservation of apples with citric acid
For the preparation of fruits according to this recipe, we need 30 minutes of time. Cooking apples in sugar syrup is easy, especially if you follow the instructions. To get a spicy and delicate aroma, add a little cinnamon. Ingredients: 0.6 kg of apples, six tablespoons of granulated sugar, one stick of cinnamon, a teaspoon of citric acid, 0.5 liters of water.

- After mixing sugar with water, cook the syrup for 20 minutes.

Aged Apple Preservation
In this, also very simple recipe, we take fruits of winter or autumn varieties, medium or small size, wash them, put them in jars and fill them with cooked hot syrup. We proceed from the following ratio: one kilogram of apples requires a liter of water and about 300 grams of granulated sugar.
We hold the apples in syrup for six to eight hours, then add the missing amount of syrup and pasteurize at 85 degrees. We do this: 15 minutes for liter cans, 20 minutes for two-liter and 30 minutes for three-liter. Whole apples in the syrup are ready, now in winter there will be no problems with replenishing the vitamin supply of the body. Enjoy your meal!
