Corn came to us in ancient times from southern Mexico. It was there that in various tribes it was the basis of the daily diet. This culture from the family of cereals is often called the queen of the fields. And this is not in vain, because corn is extremely useful and nutritious. It contains 26 elements of the periodic table, including potassium, iron, calcium, phosphorus and magnesium, and also contains amino acids and B vitamins.

The main thing is that corn does not lose its beneficial properties even after heat treatment. Canned corn, the benefit of which is undeniable, retains many minerals. It's hard to believe, but corn even contains gold. Of course, there is not much of it, only a few milligrams, but this is enough to improve brain function.

Canned corn - a universal product, it is used for the preparation of salads, soups, added to side dishes. In some cases, it is included in the diet.

Regular use of this product helps to treat cancer, improve liver and intestines, and lower cholesterol. That is why a product such as corn is the main element of nutrition in diets that contribute to weight loss. Canned corn contains much less fat than other legumes.

The preparation of canned corn begins, naturally, from the harvest. Ears are thoroughly cleaned of leaves and debris, washed in cold water. Then they are put into hot water and grains are already cut there, discarding dark and spotty grains. After that, they are washed again and sorted into cans, and fill up with fill.

We, consumers, meet this product already on the shelves of the store. Canned corn is in cans, therefore, the product itself is not visible to us, this greatly complicates the choice. How not to make a mistake and buy a quality and tasty product? To do this, carefully examine the packaging. First, choose a jar without dents or damage. Secondly, on the upper side of the can, the numbers should be written in indelible paint. Thirdly, study the composition: ideally, if the product contains only corn, sugar, salt and water.

If you are given the opportunity to see the contents of the jar, then be aware that the corn grains should be whole, even, without spots. According to GOST, canned corn should be covered with pouring in a ratio of 1 to 4. A can of canned corn can be stored at a temperature not exceeding 25 degrees. After opening the can, its contents should be transferred to glassware, you can store in the refrigerator for two days.

Canned corn goes well with many products, so you can cook salads, soups, casseroles, and even desserts with it. For example, a corn salad recipe called Italian is very interesting. For its preparation you need: 200 grams of boiled pasta, 1 bell pepper, 150 grams of ham, 2 tomatoes, 200 grams of cheese, 1 can of canned corn. For the sauce you will need: olive oil - 100 grams, parsley, basil, cilantro, 1 teaspoon of mustard, salt and lettuce to decorate .
Cut bell pepper, tomatoes, ham into cubes and mix. Add the grated cheese and corn. To make the sauce, mix olive oil, mustard and finely chopped greens. Garnish with lettuce. Enjoy your meal.

If corn is present in your diet at least once a week, then you can provide your body with enough vitamins and mineral salts. Naturally, we canโ€™t eat fresh corn all year round, but in canned form it is quite accessible to us.
