A headache worries every person at least once in a lifetime. It can occur in the occipital part, in the temporal region, in the area of the forehead and eyes.
In particular, a headache in the forehead can have many causes: migraine, unhealthy teeth, stress or neurosis, allergies, and may also be due to sinusitis, frontal sinusitis, or sinusitis. In order to get rid of this depressing ailment, it is necessary to correctly and timely establish its cause and eliminate it.
So, our task is to describe the possible causes of pain in the forehead:
1. Psychological overstrain. The pain in the forehead, caused precisely by this, occurs in the cervical region, then quickly spreads to the back of the head, temples and to the eye area. Additional symptoms are nausea, vomiting, frequent dizziness, impaired functioning of the vestibular apparatus. The source of such pain is easily detected by palpation of the cervical and occipital regions. The nature of the discomfort is oppressive, aching. As a rule, there is a sensation of pressure on the forehead, as if “presses the headgear on the forehead” (almost all patients describe their condition).
Note that this reason is the most common, patients usually suffer from emotional stress and overexcitation.
2 Frontitis and sinusitis. Immediately with sinusitis, pain in the sinuses of the nose, difficulty in breathing and the appearance of secretions from the nose can also disturb. A headache in the forehead in this situation occurs, as a rule, at the same time, with an increase in body temperature. When inflammation occurs in the frontal sinus, the pain in the forehead is very severe and more difficult to tolerate than with the inflammation of the other nasal sections. Therefore, contacting a doctor should not be postponed.
A headache that occurs due to frontal sinusitis, as a rule, is repeated in the morning, the eyes are sensitive to light. It becomes easier only when the nose is cleansed. In this case, the patient’s body temperature does not increase, there is no discharge from the sinuses. Note that vasoconstrictor drops for the treatment of frontal sinusitis should be purchased only on the recommendation of a doctor.
3. Increased intracranial pressure. A headache in the forehead can alternate with pain in the occipital and temporal region, as well as girdle pain. This may be the result of stress or nervous strain.
4. Inflammation of the frontal and ethmoid sinuses, neuralgia or trigeminal neuritis. In this case, the headache in the forehead hurts sharply and paroxysmally, however, the body temperature does not increase and no discharge from the nose appears. Sometimes pain may occur when pressing on the eyebrow area, as well as lacrimation and redness of the forehead.
5. Infection of various nature. A headache in such a situation is dull and aching, accompanied by an increase in temperature. Typically, the cause of this condition is intoxication of the body: a headache in the forehead can occur due to typhoid, acute meningitis, malaria, flu (additional pain in the superciliary arches, as well as intolerance to bright light and pain in the eyes) or fever.
6. Migraine. In this case, pain occurs in the forehead and temple, and gives to the temporal region and to the eye area. Migraine occurs periodically and paroxysmally. Sometimes nausea and vomiting are present as a complication. Many doctors characterize this disease as hereditary.
Note that only an experienced specialist can correctly diagnose a headache. Do not self-medicate, especially if your condition is not caused by fatigue or overwork. The reasons can be much more serious. Therefore, never hesitate to visit a doctor! Your health depends entirely on timely treatment.
