"Itself". Actors of the serial zombie drama

The British series In the Flesh is an outlandish kinomix of various genres and problems of modern society.

Innovative approach

The television film “In the Flesh” (front-end actors: L. Newberry, H. Keynes, M. Critchley) breaks the existing movie post about zombies, presenting the old, but not losing its relevance, idea of the walking dead cannibals in a new version. The series, positioned as a dramatic horror, includes the characteristic mystical components, features of the genre policy of the thriller and exosocial drama, raising a number of exciting issues. With an IMDb rating of 8.10, the television product In the Flesh received two BAFTA awards. Viewers and film critics appreciated the extraordinary approach to the story of the next zombie apocalypse, radically different from the hits of the current five-year period like “The Walking Dead” or “Nation Z”.

Plot

From the tragic moment when the living dead terrorized the provincial town of Roarton, very little time has passed. Veterans of the resistance movement who have risen from the graves of the bloodthirsty dead still remember those terrible days in which many citizens died. But times are changing, infected half-dead, having been treated, are returned to families. The protagonist of the television movie Cyrene Walker (Luke Newberry) is one of the repatriates. He returns home, not feeling particularly happy about this: his parents are extremely unnatural, the guy is tormented by painful memories and ghosts of the past, and his sister, having signed up for resistance, sees the guy as an enemy only. The case of the protagonist is no exception. The inhabitants of Roarton do not want to let in those who once posed a real threat. The atmosphere is preached by the sermon of the local shepherd, who set the townspeople against the settled settlers. This is a brief description of the plot and the main plot of the series “In the Flesh”.

The actors who played the images of the central characters were shot in the project for two seasons continuously, the performers of minor and episodic roles were replaced almost every series.
