Academic Drama Theater
This theater can be safely called the most popular in Krasnodar. It was founded in 1920, then it was called the "First Soviet Drama Theater named after Comrade Lunacharsky." After 12 years, this theater of Krasnodar was named after the Russian writer Maxim Gorky. It is his theater that wears today.
Initially, it was located in another building, but during the German occupation it was destroyed. In the seventies of the last century, a new structure appeared, which now adorns the central square of the city, called, of course, the Theater. This theater was founded on the basis of the operetta enterprise. He appeared in the city in 1933, and in the 97th he was renamed from the Operetta Theater to the Musical Theater. Almost immediately, his repertoire was replenished with an incredible amount of magnificent ballet and opera productions. It is worth noting that in 2002 this theater of Krasnodar became part of the largest creative association called "Premiere". In the same year, large-scale repairs were carried out here, because the theater building was built back in 1966.

In just four years, they were able to stage nine performances, while performing on the stages of various halls of the city’s Culture Houses. After the 1994 performance of the youth theater entitled "Cases of Bygone Days" was able to win the main prize of the regional competition, the city authorities decided to "settle" the "youth" in the building that used to belong to the Smena cinema. Two years later, a large-scale reconstruction was carried out.
The new interpretation of this theater platform pleased both the actors and the audience: the hall became a transformer! Puppet Theatre
It is hard to believe, but Samuel Yakovlevich Marshak himself was at the origins of the creation of this children's theater in Krasnodar! It was thanks to the initiative of this poet that a children's town with a theater first appeared in the city. Then, in 1939, the first theater for children was opened in the Krasnodar Territory . Initially, the troupe did not have its permanent shelter, the actors simply traveled around the Kuban land. This went on for many decades, only in 1972 the staff of the Krasnodar Regional Puppet Theater moved into their permanent home, which today is located on Krasnaya Street.
Spectators of this theater note the colorful and vivid design of each production. And the children are simply delighted with the repertoire: here they show such tales as “Puss in Boots”, “Geese-Swans”, “Reed Hat”, “By Pike Command”. It is worth noting that the theater has its own zest: there are staged performances full of philosophical thoughts. They are intended for both adults and children. And there are thematic festivals and shows, creative evenings!
New Puppet Theater
In the mid-nineties of the last century, the incredibly cozy chamber hall of the New Puppet Theater was opened in a building that previously belonged to the Oktyabr cinema. It is designed for only 88 seats, but enjoys unprecedented popularity among young viewers. Since the theater’s opening, director Anatoly Tuchkov, one of the world's most famous “puppeteers,” has become the artistic director. It is worth noting that many of the productions that were presented to the public immediately after the opening of the New Theater in Krasnodar are still ongoing. For example, the actors “The Doll, Actor and Fantasy” staged the play more than 500 times! It should be noted that the repertoire has an incredible amount of performances suitable for children of all ages. Almost all productions are filled with original musical numbers.
One theater
Just six years ago, a theater appeared in Krasnodar, the founders of which were artists of the Krasnodar Academic Drama Theater. Activists ventured to create a kind of experimental site on which the most daring creative ideas could be realized. No boundaries, exceptionally creative research! Initially, this theater was located in the Center for Contemporary Art, later it moved to the fifth floor of the building, which previously housed the printing house.
