Asparkam: indications for use

Asparkam is an analogue of imported panangin, but it is 8 times cheaper. It contains potassium and magnesium compounds. In one tablet, 175 mg of potassium asparaginate and magnesium asparaginate. What is the medicine Asparkam used for? Indications for use note its main property - the strengthening of the heart muscle.

Potassium and magnesium ions regulate metabolic processes, improve electrolyte balance, relieve symptoms of arrhythmia. Potassium conducts impulses along nerve fibers, helps to improve muscle contractions, is engaged in synaptic transmission, supports normal cardiac activity. Violation of potassium metabolism leads to excitation of muscles and nerves. In small doses, potassium ions contribute to the expansion of the coronary arteries, in large doses, on the contrary, lead to narrowing. Potassium also acts as a mild diuretic.

Magnesium ions take part in more than 300 enzymatic reactions. They are indispensable elements in the processes of energy input and expenditure, the balance of many electrolytes, neuromuscular tone, membrane permeability, and ion transport. Magnesium is present in the structure of DNA, affecting the hereditary apparatus. It affects cell division, enhances cell growth.

Hypokalemia and hypomagnesemia - these are the main symptoms when prescribed to drink the drug "Asparkam". Indications for use determine the duration of the course with these signs. Asparkam is also an aid in chronic circulatory failure, coronary heart disease. They also use it to stop shock conditions with various causes. Deficiency in the body of potassium and magnesium causes a disruption in the work and rhythm of the heart, ventricular extrasystole, paroxysms of atrial fibrillation. In the presence of such symptoms, Asparkam is prescribed. Indications for use include dosage for each individual case.

Contraindications to the use of the drug are renal failure, both acute and chronic, high levels of potassium and magnesium (hyperkalemia and hypermagnesemia), impaired atrioventricular conduction of stage II - III, severe myasthenia gravis.

Before taking the pills, you should also familiarize yourself with the side effects of the Asparkam drug, the indications for the use of which are extensive, but you need to be prepared for the possible occurrence of nausea, vomiting, diarrhea. Abdominal pain, dry mouth, flatulence are not excluded. Caution should be taken with a hypotonic drug, since against the background of its administration, blood pressure may decrease. Dizziness, increased sweating are not excluded, vein thrombosis may intensify.

Great care must be taken with the intravenous administration of Asparkam. Indications for this use should be reasonably substantiated, since with the rapid entry of potassium and magnesium ions into the blood, symptoms of hyperkalemia and hypermagnesemia may develop, starting with muscle hypotension, paresthesia of the extremities, ending with a slowdown in AV conduction, arrhythmia, up to cardiac arrest.

It is not recommended to take the drug “Asparkam” simultaneously with potassium-sparing diuretics, ACE inhibitors due to the increased risk of hyperkalemia. With prolonged use, the state of blood plasma and the level of potassium in it should be monitored. Taking the drug "Asparkam" together with cardiac glycosides leads to a weakening of the action of the latter.

Prescribe the drug in the first days, 2 tablets after a meal up to 3 times a day. Then the dosage is reduced to 1 tablet at a time. It is preferable to take courses.

An important area of application of Asparkam is sports. With strong physical exertion, doctors prescribe this medicine to restore lost ions in the water-electrolyte balance. The dosage in this case depends on the loads and may be increased.
