ROE analysis indicators, the norm in women

Roe norm in women
When passing a general blood test, many different indicators are revealed. ESR, or erythrocyte sedimentation rate, is considered one of the main. Until recently, this analysis was called ROE - a erythrocyte sedimentation reaction . This analysis is considered relative, because with age or depending on the gender of the person, it can have different indicators. ROE reveals the temporary result of dividing blood into two layers of different compositions.

The red blood cells remain in the lower layer, and the plasma tends to go up. The plasma layer level is formed within an hour, and the indicator is diagnosed by it. The erythrocyte sedimentation occurs at different speeds, it all depends on their ability to stick together, due to the electrification of the surface. Normally, the electric charge should have a negative indicator, which makes the cells repel each other. Also, the ability of adhesion depends on the protein content of blood plasma.

ROE indicators are normal

The indicators of the analysis of ROE, the norm for women of which should be in the region of 2-15 mm / h, can change under the influence of circumstances. Menstruation or pregnancy can change these indicators. Typically, under such conditions, the results of the analysis of the ROE increase. The norm in women can reach 30 mm / h.

Roe analysis rate

In men, the norm is lower, it varies from 1 to 10 mm / h. Of course, age significantly changes this indicator to a higher value. This is due to hormonal changes and changes in the metabolism. In addition, the analysis of ROE, the norm of which is subject to fluctuations during the day, has different indicators, for example, in the daytime it is slightly higher than at night.

If we talk about children's indicators of the analysis of ROE, the norm in children can sometimes also “jump” from 1 to 8 mm / h. Newborns have indicators up to 2 mm / h.

What can deviation of indicators from the norm indicate?

Various factors during the course of life change the readings of the analysis of ROE. The norm in women, in children or men is constantly changing, but nevertheless, thanks to this study, it becomes possible to help the patient in preventive or diagnostic studies of his condition. This analysis is also used to verify the effectiveness of the treatment. If the general analysis shows a deviation from the norm, then we can talk about the presence of acute or chronic inflammatory processes in the patient's body. It is possible that there are other, often pathological processes. Judging by how much lower the norm is the ESR of the blood, you can determine the intensity of the ongoing disease.

Problems that show an analysis of ESR above normal:

  • the immune system is broken;
  • there is a malignant tumor;
  • blood diseases, such as anemia;
  • septic processes;
  • malfunction of the endocrine system;
  • leukemia;
  • heart attacks;
  • body poisoning;
  • ROE (the norm in women rises during pregnancy or during menstruation);
  • taking medications;
  • injuries
  • infections.

Of course, this is not a complete list of diseases in which ESR exceeds the norm, and it should not be higher than 15-25 mm / h in a healthy person .

An increase in indicators is observed about a month after the birth of the baby or after surgery.

Roe norm in children

A lower ROE indicator may say:

  • the presence of hepatitis;
  • pregnancy
  • fasting;
  • taking corticosteroids;
  • myodystrophy;
  • circulatory failure and others.
