The sloth from the Ice Age is perhaps one of the most comic characters in modern animated films. It is clear that the profitability of this cartoon franchise is due to the presence in the plot of such an ambiguous and funny hero as Sid. What makes his image so remarkable?

A brief biography of the sloth Sid, we learn in the first few minutes of the cartoon. When meeting with the mammoth Manny, he immediately puts out all the details of his life. The comedic sloth has a family, and quite a big one. But no one in the family loves him or values him. To get rid of the "mistake of nature", which Sid's relatives consider to be, they run south without him at night, while the sloth sleeps on a tree.
Subsequently, fate gives Sid loyal friends who become almost a native to the sloth. But they are not averse to getting rid of annoying fidget even for a short time.

The sloth from the Ice Age involuntarily causes a smile: huge silly eyes, lisping speech, purple nose, long neck and awkward gait.

The fate of the character of the animated film
The sloth from the Ice Age in the first part of the franchise gets acquainted with the mammoth Manny and is imposed on him in fellow travelers. On the way to the south, the heroes witness the death of a young woman who hands them her baby before they die.
Miraculously, Sid persuades Manny to deviate from the course and deliver the baby to the human "flock." After some time, the Diego tiger joins them: initially he had to lead a mammoth and a sloth into a trap where other predators would attack them, but at the last moment Diego defends new friends.
Subsequently, Sid and his company will have to go through many tests. They will be saved from the flood, they will meet the mammoth Ellie, funny possums and the tiger Shira. Sid will try himself in the role of the “father” of three dinosaurs and even become engaged to the sloth Brooke in the fifth part of the film.
Sid's relationship with other heroes
The sloth from the Ice Age is an ambiguous personality. With his strange behavior of many cartoon characters, he sets up against himself.
Manny, of course, protects Sid and somewhere deep down sincerely loves a friend. But sometimes, after the next trick of the sloth, the mammoth is ready to kill him himself.
The same can be said of Diego, who refers to the advancing Sidney as a child.
Impudent possums prefer to get the sloth with barbs, because they know that he will not be able to answer them witty. But the mammoths Ellie and Peach, the wife and daughter of Manny, do not have a soul in Side: they never allow themselves to make rude statements or threats against him.
All other heroes of the Ice Age universe do not tolerate a lisping sloth.
