The preparation “OKI” (rinse solution) is intended for topical use only and is a clear greenish liquid with a characteristic minty odor. The main active ingredient in this product is ketoprofen lysine salt, and auxiliary substances are glycerol, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, menthol, sodium saccharinate, ethanol, mint flavor, brilliant green, hydrogen phosphate, purified water. Each bottle is equipped with a separate dispenser, which is designed to dispense 2 ml of the drug in one injection.
The drug is used in the treatment of various ENT diseases and in dentistry. It has an antipyretic, as well as analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect on the body, but does not have an antibacterial effect.
Since after taking the OKI preparation (rinse solution), a low concentration of ketoprofen is observed in the blood, which means that it does not have a pronounced systemic effect.
Indications for use of the solution "OKI"
The drug is prescribed if it is necessary to carry out symptomatic treatment of various inflammatory processes that occur in the larynx, oral cavity and pharynx with the following diseases:
- gingivitis, stomatitis and glossitis;
- chronic periodontal disease, aphthae and periodontopathy;
- pharyngitis, laryngitis and tonsillitis.
It is also possible to use the drug “OKI” (rinse solution) as an analgesic for dental procedures.
Dosage
The drug is intended for topical application in the form of rinses. For adult patients, two rinses are sufficient throughout the day. At one time you need 10 ml of this solution, this amount will correspond to 5 injections. Using the OKI product, rinsing is also carried out for adolescents who are over 12 years old, but they need only three injections per procedure. For children from 6 years on one rinse, it is necessary to carry out two injections of this drug.
In order to prepare a solution, it is necessary to dilute the indicated amount of the preparation “OKI” (rinse solution) in a glass with 100 grams of ordinary water.
Possible side effects
After using this drug in some cases, allergic reactions may occur. If ingestion of the indicated agent was allowed, then systemic side effects may appear.
Contraindications to the use of the drug "OKI"
The drug is not prescribed in such cases:
- if the patient has "aspirin" asthma;
- if there is an increased sensitivity to the substance ketoprofen, as well as other NSAIDs.
Although the drug can be used for gastric ulcer, acute ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis, Crohn’s disease, hemophilia, peptic ulcer, in the III trimester of pregnancy, children under 6 years of age, and also during lactation, but this should be done carefully and it is better to consult a doctor first .
A very long use of this drug may lead to sensitization. In this case, you must immediately stop using the drug “OKI” (rinse solution) and you need to choose the appropriate treatment methods.
If this drug is swallowed once, it usually does not lead to serious consequences, since the dose intended for rinsing contains such an amount of ketoprofen of lysine salt that corresponds to the dose intended for oral administration, ingestion of a larger amount of the drug can cause unwanted side effects .
Cases of overdose with OKI (rinse solution) are currently not registered.
