Evgeny Vishnevsky: biography, personal life, books and photos of the writer

Evgeni Vishnevsky is known to the general public not only as a mathematician and employee of the Research Institute of the Academgorodok. First of all, a huge number of lovers of good literature know him as a talented writer and publicist, author of a huge number of books, novels and literary scripts, as well as countless travel notes, travel diaries and travel essays.

Almost endless expeditions and travels throughout life formed the writing style of Eugene, making him one of the most popular Siberian creators, whose memoirs I want to reread with interest and a smile.

early years

Evgeni Venediktovich Vishnevsky was born on October 17, 1947 in the city of Ryazan, in the family of a school teacher and laboratory assistant. From childhood, the boy was interested in mathematics and was predisposed to the study of exact sciences. Zhenya's favorite subjects at school were physics and mathematics.

After graduating from school, the young man submits documents to the Ryazan Radio Engineering Institute for the newly created faculty of microwave mechanics. Studying under the guidance of the legendary academician Andrei Petrovich Ershov is easy for a future writer. Having graduated with honors from the institute, Evgeni Vishnevsky and his teacher moved to Novosibirsk, where the conditions for working on the first SMOG software system in the USSR, which was responsible for the graphic capabilities of computers, were created in the Academgorodok.

Traveler

In 1965, Eugene, of his own free will, graduated from cooking courses, and it was this act that determined his further scientific and creative career.

In 1967, Evgeni Vishnevsky accepts the invitation of his friend and colleague V. I. Sukhoverkhov and goes with him on an ethnographic expedition.

Then Evgeny Venediktovich did not yet know what he would devote to such expeditions for the long twenty years of his life.

Over the years, he will visit almost all the exotic places in Russia, take part in extreme expeditions to the North Pole, and travel around the world.

Cook

The knowledge acquired with a culinary diploma saved the life of the writer and his friends more than once on long trips through dangerous territories.

Cook's book

Many colleagues Vishnevsky in his memoirs note the writer's innate talent for cooking. Eugene tirelessly surprised colleagues with exquisite recipes and extraordinary culinary experiments, remaining in people's memory not only as an interesting conversationalist and wonderful storyteller, but also as an excellent cook.

Later, “The Adventures of a Wandering Chef” by Evgeny Vishnevsky will tell curious readers about the wonders of ingenuity that Evgeny showed when preparing dinner. The recipes that the writer invented on the go have long been classic in almost any geological party.

Writer

The formation of Vishnevsky as a writer took place in an atmosphere of constant work. Due to the lack of special conditions, the young writer had to work in any free time, despite the interfering circumstances.

Book cover

In the sixties, Vishnevsky practically did not publish, as he was in constant trips around the country, but in 1969 his book “At Four Corners” was published in the West Siberian Book Publishing House, in writing of which his friend Vadim Sukhoverkhov helped Vishnevsky.

After this, a forced break of fourteen years followed, and in 1983 the second joint work of the two authors, “To say thank you,” was published at the same publishing house.

In the early nineties, Evgeni Vishnevsky takes a creative vacation and is actively involved in processing travel notes from 1965-1980. The result of this work was the publication in 1993 of a large-scale five-volume entitled “Notes of a Wandering Cook”.

"Notes" are very popular among readers and can withstand more than one reprint. In 2001-2004, all of Vishnevsky’s works related to culinary topics were published in three volumes by the Armada Press publishing house. The volumes were entitled by Vishnevsky himself:

  • 2001 - “Come to us at Kolyma”;
  • 2003 - "Taimyr Calls Us";
  • 2004 - “There are no tickets to Khatanga.”

In 2005, Yevgeny Vishnevsky presented his new book - Temptation by the Ocean, which is a free author's retelling of the novel by A. A. Goncharov “Frigate Pallas”.

After the publication of Temptations by the Ocean, the writer starts sorting and processing his notes and notes about the High-Latitude Arctic, trying to combine them with a fascinating plot.

The fruit of his work comes out in 2006 and is called Tak poluchilos. The new work contains four stories about the difficult but interesting life of polar explorers.

Playwright

Photo by Eugene Vishnevsky takes pride of place in the gallery of prominent citizens of Novosibirsk, because, in addition to his career as a writer, he has become a successful playwright.

Vishnevsky Eugene

Having co-authored his friend, Vadim Sukhoverkhov, Vishnevsky wrote several plays for the theater, the most famous of which is “What could I do alone?”

Later, Vishnevsky will become one of the first playwright translators. And he will work on a total of 80 plays by authors from around the world.

In 1989, the writer was awarded the honorary prize of the Union of Writers of the USSR, and in 1990 - the prize "Dramatist - Golden Pen" for achievements in the field of translation and transformation of plays by foreign authors.

Screenwriter career

In the mid-eighties, several well-known film studios drew attention to the literary works of Yevgeny Vishnevsky, and the writer was asked to prepare scripts for filming multi-part films based on his works.

Over the next ten years, four feature films were produced for the Central Television of the USSR: “Putorana Plateau”, “In the Taiga on Sunday”, “This Indomitable Voronko” and “Ordinary Arctic”.

Films of Vishnevsky’s novels were a great success with viewers, and critics noted the “truthful reflection of reality, subtle humor and a general positive background” of television films.

Work on radio and television

In 1994, Eugene decided to temporarily stop his participation in expeditions and return home to Novosibirsk. In the next few years, the writer works on the Novosibirsk radio, releasing weekly podcasts "In the company of Eugene Vishnevsky", as well as compiling and summarizing the literature accumulated over the years of wandering.

In 2003, the writer accepts the offer to host a culinary broadcast of Gourmet Adventures, which he hosted for three years. The writer enthusiastically talked about his hobby, shared recipes for exotic dishes and discovered the secrets of survival in remote taiga, desert tundra or tropical thickets.

Evgeny Venediktovich

The narrator

Writer Yevgeny Vishnevsky also took possession of the storyteller during lengthy expeditions to the Russian North. On long evenings, he read to colleagues his travel notes and sketches of future works. Vishnevsky’s stories were very popular with both his comrades and readers of local newspapers, where he was first published. Each time, returning from another expedition, Eugene brought to the newspaper or publishing house several of his works. Due to lack of time, I had to write right at the place of events. Evgeni Vishnevsky had almost no time for editing books. It was this that formed his recognizable, a bit mean, but at the same time very rich style of an experienced storyteller.
