Sleeveless Pork Shank Recipe

There is nothing tastier than an impressive, crispy, flavorful piece of meat. Any man will confirm this. And women, even the most "losing weight", will not refuse such yummy. The meat can be prepared in different ways, but one thing is for sure - it is always delicious. In my opinion, a piece of meat cannot be ruined. So feel free to get down to business.

Today I want to share with you a recipe on how to cook a pork knuckle baked in the oven.

There is more than one pork shank recipe; they differ only in the way the shank is marinated. Some pickle it in beer or kvass, others just in mayonnaise and mustard. In general, it depends on your taste and desire. But everyone agrees that the pork knuckle in the sleeve is divinely delicious, although not very useful.

The recipe for pork shank is quite simple, the only thing that takes time is the time of pickling it. But, in order not to worry about this, you need to marinate the meat the day before and leave it overnight, then you will not walk in circles around the meat and note the time.

Well, now the pork shank recipe itself.

We will need the following ingredients:

- 1.5 kg of pork shank (it is better if it is fresh, not frozen)

- head of garlic

- mustard

- mayonnaise

- spices (black pepper, turmeric, rosemary, etc.)

- a lot of salt

- several large potatoes

So, first we take the shank, rinse it well, clean (scrape) the skin, and then dry it from the water and begin to stuff with garlic.

To do this, we make small cuts on all surfaces of the shank, we push the garlic onto the garlic squeezer, and with this garlic we begin each cut.

The next step we rub the shank with salt and pepper, well from all sides, sprinkle with other spices abundantly.

Then, in a separate bowl, mix mayonnaise and mustard, and evenly coat this entire shank surface with this mixture.

When our shank is ready, we put it in the refrigerator for at least eight hours, so that the meat is well marinated. It is better to marinate it in the evening, and the next day it will be well soaked and quickly cooked.

You can marinate, as I said in beer or kvass, but then you need to wait at least 12 hours for the shank to be saturated with aroma and hops. In this case, mayonnaise and mustard are not used, as well as the meat is rubbed with spices and salt and poured with beer to cover completely. Then the shank will have a specific taste. Children are not recommended.

When we have an already pickled pork knuckle, warm the oven well 200 degrees. Next, peel the potatoes and cut it in half, put in a sleeve. Put pork knuckle on top of potatoes and tie a sleeve.

All this is placed on a baking sheet in the oven and baked for about an hour. Then we open the oven and open the sleeve on top (cut the sleeve film on top) so that the upper part of the shank opens, then a crispy golden crust appears on top. Leave in the oven for another twenty minutes. You can still pull out the knuckle and turn it on the other side, then it will be covered with a golden crisp on all sides.

That's all, the recipe for pork shank is actually quite simple and requires a minimum of your efforts, but I guarantee that your home will be delighted with this dish. Delicate, aromatic, juicy pork knuckle, which can be served with a side dish, or separately as an appetizer.

This dish is perfect for a festive table, when you are waiting for a large number of guests, and there is no time to seriously engage in food, or for a family dinner.

By the way, if many guests are expected, then it is quite possible to bake several slices and more potatoes in one sleeve at once.
