The human ability to move on two legs as a result of evolution, besides a certain benefit, entailed specific diseases. Helping to maintain an upright position, the lumbar spine experiences maximum loads. With excessive loads, injuries or other factors, back pain occurs.
Pain in the lower back can conditionally be divided into stitching, aching, dull, acute, and so on. It can be localized at one point or spread throughout the lower back, give it to the leg or other part of the body. The opposite situation is also possible,
when the cause of the pain is, for example, in the abdominal cavity, and the person feels it in the lower back (the so-called projecting pain). The degree of sensation is also individual: from slight irritation to unbearable pain when it is impossible to bend, stand, lie down.
There are two categories of pain: primary and secondary. Primary is associated with morphological and / or functional disorders of the spine. This pain occurs primarily with degenerative-dystrophic changes in the spine as a whole, intervertebral discs, individual vertebrae, muscles or ligaments supporting the spinal column, for example, with osteochondrosis.
Secondary lower back pain is associated with spinal injuries, infections, tumor diseases, diseases of internal organs, impaired posture,
malnutrition. In any case, the appearance of lower back pain signals a destructive process in the body and should not be ignored. The most common cause since early childhood is the presence of scoliosis, kyphosis, or lordosis. Lower back pain in women occurs more often during pregnancy or with inflammatory processes in the pelvis (endometriosis,
inflammation of the ovaries, uterine fibroids), in men more often with chronic prostatitis, inflammation of the kidneys.
In addition to the above reasons, lower back pain can occur with excess weight, a sedentary lifestyle (people constantly driving a car or computer), when practicing a certain sport (lifting weights), if you have to work a lot in a static position (sellers, waiters , office workers), with age (the likelihood of developing osteoporosis increases), during pregnancy, or shortly after childbirth (such pain is associated with increased stress on the spinal column, sprains, impaired metabolism EU ETS as a result of hormonal changes in the body).
Whatever the cause of lower back pain, do not self-medicate. Self-exercise with the aim of straightening the spine or rubbing with
warming ointments can be harmful and aggravate the situation. In order to understand how to relieve lower back pain, as well as for adequate and effective treatment, you should contact a qualified specialist for a diagnosis. Before visiting a doctor, it is permissible to take an anesthetic to relieve pain.
