What are "mandavoshki"? This is the slang name for pubic lice - tiny insects that live on the human genitals. They differ significantly from head lice that cause lice and reach a length of less than 1.6 mm.
The most common way to contract Mandavoshka is through intercourse. In children, pubic lice are found in eyebrows or eyelashes - if they are found by a doctor, this circumstance can serve as evidence of sexual violence committed against minors. However, lice can be infected in more harmless ways - for example, through common clothing, bedding or towels.
Pubic lice in women and men feed on blood, and their bites cause severe itching. Treatment usually consists of the use of special creams and lotions, which are sold on OTC in pharmacies and kill parasites along with eggs.
Symptoms
The main sign of infection with mandavoshki is severe itching in the genital area. However, these insects can inhabit other parts of the body covered with coarse hair, including:
- legs;
- chest;
- armpits;
- a beard or mustache;
- eyebrows or eyelashes.
When to see a doctor
If you have learned from your own experience what mandavoshki are, try to get rid of the problem yourself, using available topical medicines and following the directions in the instructions that came with the medication. See your doctor if:
- specialized drugs were ineffective in eradicating pubic lice;
- You are pregnant;
- you combed the bite places to abrasions, and the infection got into the wounds.
Complications
Pubic lice in men and women, as a rule, die after application to the infected areas of a pharmacy lotion or gel. If you ignore the problem, the following complications can occur:
- Discoloration of the skin. On the places of constant bites of the mandate, pale blue spots often appear.
- Secondary infections If itching from biting causes you to scratch your skin, a new infection can enter the wounds.
- Eye irritation. Patients with pubic lice on the eyelashes often suffer from inflammation (conjunctivitis).
Diagnostics
In order to discern what mandavoshka is, it is not necessary to be a doctor - just look carefully at the infected area. The presence of lice is determined by their motor activity.
It is possible to diagnose the presence of mandavoes by detecting their eggs (nits). However, nits are usually attached to the hairs and can be detected even after successful treatment. Such eggs are considered dead and therefore harmless.
Treatment
If regular lotions and shampoos (Nyx and others) were unable to destroy your pubic lice, the doctor will prescribe stronger drugs, for example:
- "Malathion". This insecticide is a prescription. It is applied to the affected areas and washed off after 8-12 hours.
- Ivermectin. This drug is taken once in the amount of two tablets. If a single dose is ineffective, you can take two more tablets after ten days.
- Lindane This is the most dangerous and toxic insecticide, which is prescribed only if all other methods of getting rid of lice have not yielded results. In order to forget for a long time what mandavoshki is, the patient rubs Lindane into the affected area and rinses it off after four minutes. This drug is not prescribed for pregnant and lactating women, young children, the elderly and those who weigh less than fifty kilograms.
Thorough examination and treatment are subject to all parts of the body with hair, since pubic lice, escaping from insecticides, are able to move from the genitals to other areas. Shaving is ineffective in controlling parasites.
