In addition, there is also the word "ragouter", meaning "to stimulate appetite." There is an opinion that the initial version of the preparation consisted in frying pieces of meat and beans with mushrooms with bread crumbs to obtain a thick consistency.

The people of Eastern Europe (Hungary), neighboring states of France (Germany), distant India and other territories have long known what stew is. It can be noted that they were united by the idea of ​​preparing this treat in pots, and each nation has its own name for the stew.

This should be done on medium heat until the ingredients are golden brown, adding salt and other spices (pepper, cumin, etc.) to taste. Then you need to fill the vegetables with water so that the liquid covers the mixture, reduce the heat and simmer for about 1 hour.

What is Irish stew? In an almost ready meal, you need to add half a glass (you can taste) of dark beer or replace it with port or wine suitable for these purposes. Before eating, you can decorate the dish with herbs and finely chopped garlic.

What is vegetable stew? This is a great dietary and nutritious meal. It is often cooked on holidays such as Easter, and with this treat you can decorate the table on any other day. To do this, you need a pound of potatoes, one each of carrots and onions, two medium zucchini. Chop all the vegetables into pieces of approximately the same size, except for the onion, which is cut into half rings. Fry all the ingredients in turn in 100 ml of olive oil and put in a stewing container. Add spices to taste (salt, a mixture of peppers and others), pour a glass of water and simmer until tender (about 30 minutes). Sprinkle the finished treat with walnuts and herbs.
