Birth control drug "Regulon": instructions for use

Most women of reproductive age are faced with the problem of selecting reliable and effective contraception. Despite the large selection of drugs at present, many drugs have contraindications or, for some other reason, are not suitable in each individual case. One of the most effective means of oral contraception is Regulon tablets, which have a rather mild effect, and therefore experts recommend it even at a young age.

The main active ingredients are desogestrel and ethinyl estradiol, they inhibit the secretion of certain hormones, which causes ovulation block; spermatozoa cannot easily enter the uterus because mucus changes its characteristic properties. If a fertilized cell is already present, it cannot be implanted in the uterus. It should be noted that the drug "Regulon" also recommends the use of it as a therapeutic agent in such cases as an irregular menstrual cycle, dysmenorrhea, and severe premenstrual syndrome.

The preparation is white tablets convex on both sides, coated with a film sheath. Before taking it, you should consult your doctor, as it may not be suitable in all cases. If the drug "Regulon", the instructions for use of which is quite detailed, is used as a contraceptive, then additional means of protection are not necessary.

Pills should be started at the same time as the new menstrual cycle. One tablet should be drunk per day, at the same time. It is washed down with liquid, preferably during meals. The course lasts 3 weeks, it takes one package. After this, a week-long break is made, during which bleeding occurs, called menstruation. Further, the drug is drunk according to the same scheme.

It is worth mentioning that the Regulon tablets do not recommend use by nursing mothers, as this may affect a decrease in lactation. In other cases, after childbirth, the drug can be used after 21 days. After an abortion, the drug "Regulon" is used as a contraceptive from the first day. In order to start the course of the drug during the transition from a similar oral contraceptive, the pill is taken without taking a break between the two agents.

In cases where delayed menstruation is needed, a week-long break between doses is not done. In this case, sometimes spotting or spotting may appear, which does not affect the effectiveness of the drug.

Before taking Regulon, you should familiarize yourself with the contraindications of this drug. Among them are pregnancy or suspicion of it, hypertension, cholelithiasis, diabetes, herpes, as well as sensitivity to the components of the drug. In addition, in rare cases, allergic reactions can occur, in which case the drug should be discontinued and other contraceptives be used.

Before a woman starts using Regulon tablets, the instructions for use should be studied in detail by her. In the event that the tablet has been skipped, the following guidelines should be followed. If no more than 12 hours have passed after the pass, the medicine is taken, and then the course goes on as usual. If more time has passed, you need to drink two tablets the next day, continue taking the drug as before, however, use additional contraceptives, since the reliability in this cycle is no longer guaranteed by the manufacturers.

In addition, the drug "Regulon" instructions for use does not recommend taking at the same time with drugs such as antispasmodics, certain types of antibiotics and medicinal herbs (including St. John's wort).
