Eye injury is a dangerous phenomenon that can lead to sad consequences, including blindness. If it happened to you, do not postpone the visit to the optometrist. Go to his appointment. Only he can prescribe the right treatment and prescribe special eye drops for eye injury. About what they can be, read further in the article.
Types of eye orbit injuries
The most common form is the ingestion of a foreign particle, such as a small mote. Such an injury can happen at any time, it is impossible to protect the organs of vision from it. Even glasses sometimes do not save. Other types of injury:
- hit of caustic evaporation from alkalis or chemicals on the protein coat of the eye - chemical;
- a burn of the cornea with any hot or too cold objects - thermal;
- damage to the eye due to radiation waves or bright flashes (for example, from a camera) - radiation;
- damage to the cornea with a strong bruise or blow to the eye is mechanical.
Mixed type injuries often occur: thermo-beam or thermochemical.
First aid for eye injuries
First of all, you need to drip drops into your eyes in case of injury. You can apply: "Albucid" (20% solution), "Levomycetin" (0.25%) or "Vitabact" (0.05%). The use of these drugs will not help get rid of the problem, but it will allow you to safely get to the emergency room, where the victim will already receive qualified assistance.
If the injury occurred due to the ingestion of a foreign body into the eye, it is impossible to take any independent actions to remove it. In case of a bruise, ice from the refrigerator wrapped in polyethylene and a clean cloth should be attached to the affected area. The same can be done with a thermal burn. Only in this case, it will also be nice to use an antibacterial ointment. In case of a chemical burn, the eyes should be washed as thoroughly as possible with running water. Before this, it is advisable to remove from the face all particles of a toxic substance. In any case, it is strictly forbidden:
- rub your eyes or touch them with dirty hands;
- use cotton wool instead of gauze (unless there is bleeding!);
- rinse a penetrating wound;
- to dig in the first eye drops that come under the arm after an eye injury.
To prevent complications after an eye injury, it is important to carry out any first aid measures after washing your hands and treating them with an antiseptic solution.
Types of eye drops
After providing the victim with first aid, it is recommended that the same day or the next time be reduced to an ophthalmologist. If you yourself have suffered, you can do it yourself. The doctor, given the nature of the damage and the testimony of the studies, will prescribe different types of drops for eye injury. What to drip, only he can solve. But you should know that there are several types of such drugs:
- antimicrobial - they are designed to help in the fight against various infections;
- anti-inflammatory - help get rid of non-infectious lesions of the organs of vision and their appendages;
- pain-relieving eye drops for trauma - designed to alleviate the condition of the victim before the hospital, have a short-term effect;
- anti-allergic - respectively, are intended for the prevention and inflammation of allergies;

Drug Reviews
Judging by the reviews of people, all the droplets mentioned in this article really work. Many often use Vizin to relieve fatigue, they say that these drops help with an injury to the cornea. But in any case, we recommend that you do not forget that you can not prescribe drugs to yourself. This must be done by the doctor! Since drops, like any other drugs, have their contraindications.
