Almost all children love sweets, but you do not always want to treat them with purchased sweets of unknown origin. Many mothers cook at home, but sometimes itโs difficult to create a delicious, beautiful and funny dessert that your baby will prefer to buy. A simple cake recipe in the shape of a bear will come to your aid! You will spend a little more than an hour on its preparation, and time, as you know, is especially appreciated when there is a small child in the house and a feast in his honor is on his nose.
In order to make a teddy bear cake with your own hands, you will need the following ingredients.
Biscuit
For the biscuit, prepare the following foods:
- 400 g of oil, plus additionally for greasing molds;
- 400 g of sugar;
- 8 eggs;
- 400 g flour;
- 4 tsp baking powder.
For baking, you will need two round fryers of different diameters and five small cupcake tins.
Butter cream
To prepare the cream, take the following ingredients:
- 450 g of oil;
- 900 g sifted icing sugar;
- a few drops of food coloring pink, red, blue or yellow
The dye can be replaced with fruit or vegetable juice with a characteristic color, as well as cocoa powder to give a delicate chocolate shade.
For decoration
How can you decorate a funny teddy bear? Take for example:
- 6-7 small sweets (chocolate buttons, dragees or jellies) for eyes, nose, etc .;
- chocolate lace for the mouth.
Chocolate lace can be made independently. To do this, melt the chocolate, and then use a syringe to draw on the plate or board the desired shape (in our case, two semicircles) and freeze to solidify.
A method of preparing a cream cake in the form of a bear
Grease a baking sheet with oil or cover with oiled baking paper. Place special paper tins on the muffin pan.
Stir the oil in a large bowl with a fork or electric mixer until soft. Add sugar and beat until sugar dissolves and the mixture is light and lush.
Beat the eggs in a separate bowl for several seconds until airy, and then gradually introduce them into the oil mixture, without stopping to beat.
Sift the flour, add the baking powder to it, mix thoroughly and pour the mixture into the prepared butter-egg mass. Beat the resulting dough until smooth for 3-4 minutes.
Pour the dough into forms, starting with small ones, to be sure that the dough is enough for them. Then fill out the large form. Small forms should be filled in three quarters, large - about half.
Bake muffins and a small biscuit for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Poke the center of the cake with a wooden toothpick - it should remain dry and clean.
Bake a large biscuit for about 35 minutes, at the end check its readiness with a toothpick. Remember that it is strictly forbidden to open the oven (especially at the beginning) - cakes may not rise. The result will be a spoiled appearance and taste - the biscuit will turn out to have a denser consistency.
Remove the prepared biscuits from the oven and let cool in the broilers for 10 minutes. Then separate the edges of each biscuit from the fryer with a small sharp knife, carefully remove each cake from the mold and leave to cool on a special stand or board.
Leave the muffins to cool in the molds for 5 minutes, then remove them and let them cool well.
Place the large and small biscuit on a rectangular dish or board next to each other. A large biscuit should be at the bottom of the dish, a small one at the top. This is the head and torso of a bear.
Place four cupcakes around the body: two closer to the head and two slightly lower - these are the paws of our bear. Then cut the remaining fifth cupcake in half and make ears out of it. Do not place the ears close to each other, otherwise the bear will look ridiculous.
The base for the cake in the shape of a bear is ready!
Decoration
To prepare the butter cream, beat the softened butter with icing sugar for a couple of minutes until the mixture becomes light and airy. Add a few drops of food coloring of the desired color. If you want a cream of a more saturated shade, add more dye to it. If you want the bear to turn brown, use cocoa instead of the dye, but remember that the powder should be fine. Dry cocoa "Nesquik" is well suited.
Using a special knife or spatula, spread the cream over the entire surface of the cake. If you want the bearโs fur to be smooth, regularly lower the knife into a jug or bowl with boiling water. In order to get "fur", use a confectionery syringe with a special nozzle. You can also use an ordinary fork, making it many small grooves on the cream.
As an option - sprinkle the cake with biscuit crumbs. In this case, you need to pre-cook the extra cupcake, grind it and use it as a decoration. On the presented photo of cakes in the shape of a bear, you can see different design methods and choose the one you like most.
It's time for the finishing touches. From the sweets prepared in advance, make the eyes and nose of the bear, and lay the chocolate lace under the nose in the shape of a rounded letter W. The middle of the letter should be slightly lowered so that the bear looks smiling. From 3-4 sweets, make multi-colored buttons on the bearโs body. Wonderful claws will be made of sweets - attach them on the tips of the paws, three to four pieces each.
Put the finished cake in the refrigerator for a couple of hours. There is time to prepare for the reception of guests. Be sure, kids will appreciate the treat and even ask for supplements.
