Rubella symptom, as the disease itself, most often manifests itself in childhood. But there are also cases when this disease applies to adult inhabitants of our planet. It is worth noting that rubella is quite difficult, and sometimes it causes much more serious complications than a banal rash on the skin.
How is it transmitted?
As you know, the main symptom of rubella is irritation and a rubella rash, which usually spreads throughout the body. Both a child and an adult can become a source of such an infection, especially in the last days of the incubation period, as well as within 5 days after the direct appearance of red spots.
The route of transmission of this disease is airborne. That is why the infected person should be immediately isolated from other people in the house or hospital.

The incubation period of the presented disease lasts approximately ten days. It is worth noting that at first rubella can not betray itself in any way and only on the 5th day it appears in the form of multiple rashes. After another 48 hours, the patient may develop a fever with a low temperature. In some cases, a person begins to feel bad immediately before the rash (in 2 days).
The most common rubella symptom is a rash, which is especially pronounced in adults than in young children. Separate elements of rashes can connect, forming quite large erythematous spots.
As practice shows, at first the main symptom of rubella, or rather, a rash, appears on the nose and behind the ears, after which it spreads across the forearms, arms, trunk and lower extremities. When merged, it becomes brighter and more pronounced. This period can last for one and a half weeks. At the same time, an adult feels a general malaise, headaches, fever, as well as pain in the joints and muscles. Often this "childhood" disease is accompanied by severe sore throat and runny nose.
If a pregnant woman (in the first trimester) falls ill with rubella, then doctors recommend an abortion, as the infection affects the fetus and contributes to a number of complications.
How to treat?
Not everyone can face a disease like rubella. Symptoms in adults (treatment of the disease is carried out either in a hospital or at home) at any age are the same. During the rash, the patient should constantly be in bed, drink a lot, and also not contact anyone. Special treatment for the normal course of this disease is not used. But in order to prevent its possible manifestation in those people who have never encountered it, doctors conduct preventive vaccination.
Usually the outcome of this disease is favorable. However, if there are any complications (for example, arthritis or rubella encephalitis), then the patient should be hospitalized immediately.
