Chlorhexidine bigluconate is a broad-spectrum antiparasitic and antimicrobial antiseptic. For therapeutic purposes, chlorhexidine bigluconate is used to flush the bladder and surgical wounds. It is used to prevent various sexually transmitted diseases (gonorrhea, syphilis, trichomoniasis).
To disinfect wound and burn surfaces, a 0.05% aqueous-alcoholic solution of chlorhexidine bigluconate is used.
