Chlorhexidine bigluconate is a broad-spectrum antiparasitic and antimicrobial antiseptic. The drug has such a strong and effective effect that it is used for sterile treatment of the hands of a surgeon and an operating table, as well as for the rapid sterilization of surgical instruments. For therapeutic purposes, chlorhexidine bigluconate is used to flush the bladder and surgical wounds. It is used to prevent various sexually transmitted diseases (gonorrhea, syphilis, trichomoniasis).
To disinfect wound and burn surfaces, a 0.05% aqueous-alcoholic solution of chlorhexidine bigluconate is used.
