Khabarovsk Regional Philharmonic: description, review of the repertoire, photo, reviews

At the moment, the Khabarovsk Regional Philharmonic is one of the most famous and historical scenes in the country. The best cultural events of the city of various sizes are constantly taking place here, well-known artists perform and it is here that every art lover can find what he likes. Before telling about the features of the Khabarovsk Regional Philharmonic, I would like to go back a few decades ago and see how the formation of this “pearl” of art took place.

History

Whoever said that, but 79 years old is a very respectable age. During this time, almost everything can change. In human life, in the history of a country or city, and indeed in everything. And if we take into account that changes are taking place on such a scale, it’s even hard to imagine what could have happened within the walls of the Khabarovsk Regional Philharmonic. Every day more and more concerts are held in it, not only domestic artists and singers, but also people who come from far abroad take the stage. It is precisely because of the intense concert and touring activities of many artists that the Khabarovsk Regional Philharmonic will never lose its relevance.

Concert hall

First mention

The first mention of the Khabarovsk Regional Philharmonic Society was in 1938. It was then that the first Concert Organization was formed, which after some time grew into the now existing Philharmonic. The first head of the conservatory was L. B. Levantovsky.

Initially, the Khabarovsk Regional Philharmonic Society occupied only two rooms of the city Music College, which was located on Volochaevskaya Street. The Philharmonic has always led an active cultural and concert activity and never stopped at the result. Even during the Great Patriotic War, the philharmonic society went on tour to hospitals to raise the morale of wounded soldiers.

After the war

After the end of the war, in 1953, a musical and creative lecture hall was organized on the basis of the philharmonic society, the activity of which continues to this day. A little later, in 1961, thanks to an order from the Ministry of Culture of the RSFSR, an orchestra called the “Far Eastern Symphony Orchestra” was added to the philharmonic society. From this moment, their joint activity in the Khabarovsk Regional Philharmonic Society began.

Vigorous activity

In the period from 1965 to 1985, the Khabarovsk Regional Philharmonic Society held a little more than ten large-scale concerts, which performed music by famous Far Eastern composers, whose names are known to almost all art lovers - E. Kazachkov, S. Moskalev, N. Mentser and many others. During these years, the Khabarovsk Regional Philharmonic Society was headed by V. Romanov, and the deputy, and part-time art director, was a graduate of one of the famous Soviet conservatories - Valentin Chernin. Only thanks to his merits could he bring the Khabarovsk Philharmonic to a new solid level.

In the 70s, the legendary and honored artist of Russia Vyacheslav Sobolevsky took the place of artistic director K. Nikitan. For more than 20 years he served in the Khabarovsk Regional Philharmonic Society, every year maintaining and developing all the results and achievements of the work of his predecessors.

Famous leader

The next head of the Philharmonic was Gennady Andrianovich Potilitsin, who forever inscribed his name in the history of Khabarovsk culture. Legends even circulated about him for a long time. He was a very competent leader and always devoted all his efforts to the development of the Khabarovsk Philharmonic. Potylitsyn is still captured in the hall of fame on a photo in the Khabarovsk Philharmonic. Even in the difficult period in the 90s, he not only saved all the creative groups and soloists of absolutely all organizations, but also continued to search and develop new talents.

In the modern history of the Khabarovsk Regional Philharmonic Society, there were no significant changes, except that from 2007 to 2016 the conservatory was led by Igor Mosin and the honored artist of Russia Alexander Shendrik. From the fall of 2017 to the present, Vladimir Budnikov has held the post of leader.

Concert Hall History

Describing the concert hall of the Khabarovsk Regional Philharmonic, it should be noted that its history is no less interesting than the whole organization.

Concert hall

The Khabarovsk Philharmonic Concert Hall is a unique work of art that is completely different from all other existing scenes not only in the Far East, but also from other philharmonic societies in the country.

The construction of the building of the future regional philharmonic society began back in 1880. According to the construction plan, the address of the Khabarovsk Philharmonic was supposed to be on Shevchenko Street, located along the mighty Amur River, which with its unimaginable beauty always attracted residents and visitors alike.

A cultural center has been forming in this place for many years, contributing to the development of the creative potential of the inhabitants of this eastern town. At the end of the 19th century, the construction of the first brick buildings in Khabarovsk began, which later became the cultural heritage of the city. Most distinguished was the house of the Military Assembly, which was built under the guidance of engineer W. Mooro. This was the beginning of the Khabarovsk Regional Philharmonic. Performances were often held in it, balls were organized, as well as performances and exhibitions.

The collective of artists

At the beginning of the 20th century, according to the outline of the famous engineer A. Nikolaev-Trukhanin, the house of the Military Assembly was enlarged to a height of three floors. The decoration of the appearance on the facades of the building was done by Austrian and Hungarian artists. If you do not take into account the reconstruction of the auditorium and interior in 1938, the future Khabarovsk Regional Philharmonic Society remained in this form until the end of the socialist period.

New restoration

During the Great Patriotic War, there was a military hospital inside the building, and a few years later, after another restoration, the philharmonic society turned into a musical comedy theater. In the 80s, the building underwent a series of reforms and was urgently transferred to the Far Eastern Museum of Art, because of which it again became the Khabarovsk Regional Philharmonic, which prompted the local intelligentsia to again actively attend cultural events.

The next major restoration took place in 2002, when the building acquired a new look. New sound and lighting equipment was purchased, soft and comfortable chairs for the audience, bright paintings on the walls of the philharmonic halls and new ticket offices were installed. There are two halls in the Khabarovsk Regional Philharmonic Hall - Bolshoi and Chamber. And if the first one is designed for 462 places, then the second one is almost 4 times less - 98.

Indoor hall

The lobby of the Khabarovsk Regional Philharmonic is decorated with paintings from the stocks of the Far Eastern Museum, and the chandeliers on the ceilings of the building are made of crystal. On the ground floor there is a restaurant in which art lovers, after wonderful performances by artists, can eat and share their emotions and feelings with each other.

Absolutely on each floor there is a monitor on which information about upcoming concerts, programs and performances is always updated. In 2013, the leadership of the Philharmonic decided to open a museum of the history of this building, where you can learn all about the development of the culture of this region and the Philharmonic.

Objectives of the Regional Philharmonic

The Khabarovsk Philharmonic Society has many goals, the list of which is listed below:
