Not so long ago, 53 years have passed since the release of one of the best paintings of the time on the screens of the Soviet Union. The actors of the film “I am walking in Moscow” (namely, it will be discussed in this article) still recall it with special warmth, because for many it was the first acquaintance with the cinema. And it was these shootings that paved their way to the big cinema.
Story line. Meeting in the subway
All the film takes place on the summer days of the 63rd year.
A young installer named Vladimir arrives in Moscow from distant Siberia at the invitation of a writer who was interested in the story of a young man published in one of the magazines. And the writer invites Volodya to a conversation.
In the car of the Moscow subway, the boy meets the metro-worker Nikolai. Since Volodya doesn’t know him in this city, he asks his new acquaintance to tell him where the house where his acquaintances live is. Nicholas proposes to spend Vladimir, especially since the desired street is literally a couple of steps from his own home.
Kolya is not able to rest after the night shift, because his friend Sasha comes to him, asking for help in getting a respite from the military registration and enlistment office and purchasing a wedding suit in GUM.
Story line. A boring day
The conscripted groom is met and given him a whole month, after which he will nevertheless have to go to serve. And in the store, friends met with Volodya. Now the three of us are going to choose a good gift for Sasha in the department where they sell records. It is there that Alena works as a saleswoman, to whom Kolya is not indifferent.
After a walk around GUM, Sasha and Kolya show Vladimir Moscow, and together they go to a meeting with writer Voronov, which is very important for a young editor.
After there were many more events - Sasha’s wedding, a quarrel between him and his bride, meeting with Alena’s dad, a “hypnosis session” that ended with going to the police ... Events were all kinds of - funny and not very. The day was very diverse. But evening comes, and new friends have to leave.
Photos of the actors of the film “I Walk in Moscow” circled almost all magazines at that time. The artists wrote letters, admired their talent. They became practically celestials.
The beginning of an interesting work
Danelia wrote about the beginning of work on the film in his book. Gennady Shpalikov somehow came to him with a new scenario. It described rainy weather. In the rain, a barefoot girl was walking with shoes in her hand. Behind her, a young man was riding a bicycle slowly. He held an umbrella over the girl, she tries to dodge, but the guy continues to follow her and smile.
George Danelia approved this scene and together they began to write the script. True, he was being refined all the time, and new characters were introduced into him.
Gennady Shpalikov was friends with Andrei Konchalovsky, therefore, he proposed that Danelia be approved for the role of Kolya Nikita Mikhalkov, who was then only eighteen years old. The director of the film “I Walk in Moscow” (the actors became his special pride) then recalled that for a young man this was the first noticeable role in the movie. And he did it superbly.
Nikita Mikhalkov
This is only later, many years later, everyone will recognize Nikita Mikhalkov not only as a good actor, but also as a wonderful director, from whose pen came out films that are not indifferent to every thinking person. He was born in an unusual, very talented family - with Natalia and Sergei Mikhalkov. It was his father who was the author of the anthem of the Soviet Union, which the whole country sang, and his mother was a translator and children's writer.
At school, when they learned about the boy’s noble birth, everyone began to taunt him. At first he endured, but once lied that he was taken from an orphanage. For a while it passed. Everything turned out by chance, when the teacher sympathized with his mother, they say, it’s hard to manage his step-son. Nikita Sergeyevich still remembers the difficult conversation that took place at their home.
He got to the cinema thanks to his older brother Andrei, because Nikita so wanted to be like him. He first appeared on the set at age 14. After the third picture of "The Adventures of Krosh," the boy felt like a star. Then there was the film "I walk in Moscow."
The student years passed quickly, especially since Nikita not only studied, but also acted in film, despite the fact that it was strictly forbidden then. But so he was always a man - often did what was impossible.
After studying the roles there were a lot. But the young actor did not forget about his personal life. His first wife was the beauty Guttiere - Anastasia Vertinsky. It was a very beautiful couple. They had a son, Stepan. Everything was fine, but after three years they broke up. Mikhalkov wanted his wife to be a housewife, and Nastya saw herself on the screen and on the stage.
His second wife was the model Tatiana. Three children were born in this marriage: two girls and a boy. They all embarked on an acting career, though Artyom is now immersed in the restaurant business.
The actors of the film “I Walk in Moscow” are now known and loved by the audience. But then, half a century ago, they took their first steps in Soviet cinema. Apart from film critics and critics, few know that before the approval of the role of Vladimir Alexey Loktev, the tests were carried out with Vitaly Solomin and Gennady Bortnikov. Yes, and Alena saw Natalia Selezneva. Moreover, with the young actress, rehearsals were in full swing and they shot several scenes. But thanks to the assistant director, who led to Danelia Galin of Poland, the heroine turned out to be different.
Galina of Poland
This talented actress played in about one hundred and forty films. Despite a rather respectable age (she is already 78 years old), she still continues to act in films. Everyone remembered Galina Polskikh for her first role as a fifteen-year-old girl in the film "Wild Dog Dingo." Then there were many other memorable works - “Fidelity”, “Sunday Papa”, “Vanity of vanities”, “For family reasons”. All roles were different, but each she seemed to prove to the audience that a truly great actress.
She is now invited to films and TV shows. Polish often works in interesting projects. For the sake of the role in the theater, he will easily refuse to shoot in any television series.
Evgeny Steblov
A completely different actor was also chosen for Sasha. True, Danelia only remembers his name - Igor. And later, the director accidentally caught the eye of a student at the Shchukin school, Yevgeny Steblov, who seemed to be ideally suited for this role. In the end, he played the groom.
This actor is another descendant of an old noble family. His great-grandfather once served as a state adviser in Rybinsk. There, the leader of the nobility was the cousin of Nikita Mikhalkov. Since childhood, Eugene wanted to be an actor. He even arranged a puppet theater at school, for which he made puppets for himself.
After the film debut in his biography was "The First Trolleybus". Then they began to invite other interesting roles. A bit later there was the role of the secondment from "Taimyr Calls You," Dr. Mortimer in "The Hound of the Baskervilles." And in the film "For family reasons" he once again starred with Galina Polsky - she was in the role of mother-in-law, and Eugene was a son-in-law.
In the nineties, he almost never starred. I wanted good pictures, but he was offered nonsense. Thanks to Mikhalkov, he returned to his picture The Siberian Barber.
Now he, a professor at the RATI, is still entering the stage of the theater. Moscow City Council. Still acting in films. And in the play "Aliens", which was written by his son Sergei, they played together.
This picture was exactly the same debut as for Steblov, for Irina Miroshnichenko, a third-year student at the Moscow Art Theater School. She starred in the role of Katie.
New genre
For many years, George Danelia joked, saying that it was he who was the real founder of the genre of lyrical comedy, and the actors of the film “I Walk in Moscow” were the first to star in this genre.
And it happened like that. In Goskino, they looked at this picture and decided that it would be completely unclear what it was about. “This is comedy,” Danelia answered. “Why, then, isn't it funny?” “Because it's a lyrical comedy.” “Then it should be indicated.” So a new genre was born in Russian cinema.
The spirit of an era ...
The actors and the roles of the film “I Walk in Moscow” were immediately loved by the audience and critics. Moreover, both those and other films were perceived very warmly. The plot was rather unpretentious, but the heroes are charming and recognizable - like guys from neighboring yards. Yes, and signs of the times could be seen. And all together it made it possible to recreate the atmosphere and spirit of that era, which in the history books is called the “Khrushchev thaw”. It should be noted that both the film itself and the song of the same name from it (authors Andrei Petrov and Gennady Shpalikov) became unforgettable symbols of the generation of the “sixties”. And the actors of the film "I Walk in Moscow" from that moment were included in the unspoken lists of the most beloved Soviet artists.
