'Otrivin': a caring instruction.

The author of this article himself has repeatedly taken this drug, and that is why he wants to share his experience. A seasoned »’ ’person knows how easy it is to get into a kind of dependence on methazoline drugs, therefore, in this article he wants to talk not only about the method of using this medicine, but also about some of the dangers that the instruction that comes with the Otrivin spray, but which are rarely paid attention to.
So, Otrivin is a drug of the so-called metazoline group, which includes drugs with active ingredients such as hydroxy, xylo, deoxy and other metazolines. Metazoline itself is a substance that, when it enters the mucous membrane, causes vasoconstriction and, as a result, a decrease in its size. Naturally, getting on the nasopharynx mucosa, Otrivin quickly and effectively eliminates its swelling, which means that after ten, at most twenty, minutes, we begin to breathe absolutely freely.
The instructions for use in the kit with drops or Otrivin spray say that the drug gives a breath-free effect for a period of about twelve hours. As a rule, this is more than enough if you did an injection before going to work - you can breathe freely until the very end of the working day.
As a rule, after the host Otrivin returns home after work or school, he immediately injects himself with an extra dose, because he feels that his nose is starting to “swell” again. So, a metazoline dependence begins slowly - not physical, but rather psychological.
The instruction in the box of the Otrivin preparation clearly states that taking the drug for more than three consecutive days is strictly not recommended, since our mucous membrane is not ready to constantly be exposed to foreign chemicals. But who reads the instructions if metazoline happiness has already begun to slowly penetrate your brain? How can you deny yourself free breathing if you just need to press the dispenser only twice? That is why, in most cases, immediately after opening the Otrivin spray box, the instruction flies into the trash can - you yourself know how best ... And then what?

And then a week passes, after it begins the second, and you have already cured a cold, only now you can’t cope with a runny nose. You used the first bottle of Otrivin, bought the second ... Most likely, the third will follow it. And every time you open a new bottle of Otrivin, the instruction will remain unattended, although it contains all the answers to your questions.
The reason for your ongoing "runny nose" lies in the fact that your mucous membrane is used to the fact that it does not need to be toned - it is already narrowed by the next dose of spray or drops. Thus, after the spray ceases, it swells to such a size that your breathing is difficult again, and when you wake up, you again and again look for the treasured bubble. You should not run such a case - it’s better immediately, as soon as you realize that you are in a kind of dependence on the drug, start getting rid of it.
In order to get rid of metazoline addiction, we recommend switching to the more sparing drug "Otrivin Baby", the instructions for which should also be read by you from cover to cover. Also, at the same time switching to a drug with a lower dosage of the active substance, we advise you to start rinsing the nose with seawater - for this, Humer sprays are ideal, which will return your mucous tone. Regular rinsing will allow you to return the mucosa to normal operation within a week and a half to two weeks, after which you will forget about sprays.
Be careful, and do not fall for a metazoline fishing rod!
