Ibuprofen tablets belong to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, non-narcotic analgesics. This drug has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects.
Ibuprofen tablets inhibit cyclooxygenase and block prostaglandin synthesis. The analgesic effect is caused by a decrease in the synthesis of bradykinin, which stimulates pain receptors. The anti-inflammatory property is due to a decrease in the intensity of manifestations of inflammation, an improvement in microcirculation, normalization of vascular permeability, and an antipyretic - to a decrease in the excitability of the diencephalon centers. The severity of the latter effect directly depends on the dose of the drug and the initial temperature. Ibuprofen tablets reversibly inhibit platelet aggregation.
The use of this drug in primary dysmenorrhea causes a decrease in intrauterine pressure and the frequency of uterine contractions.
Ibuprofen tablets with rheumatoid arthritis mainly affect the exudative and proliferative phase of the inflammatory process, providing an analgesic effect, quickly reducing tissue swelling and joint stiffness.

It penetrates into the joint cavity rather slowly, however, it lingers here in significant quantities, creating higher concentrations than in plasma. The drug is utilized in the liver, the products are completely excreted in the urine.
