IRS 19. Instruction

The drug "IRS 19" is part of a group of immunostimulating drugs of bacterial origin. The medication helps to increase non-specific and specific immunity. IRS 19 is available in the form of an aerosol for intranasal (nasal) use.

When spraying the drug, the nasal mucosa is covered. This provokes the rapid development of a local immune response. A specific reaction is associated with locally generated antibodies belonging to the class of secretory A-type immunoglobulins that impede the multiplication of pathogens of infections on the mucosa.

The effect of the drug is noted mainly in the upper respiratory tract. There are no data on systemic absorption of the drug for today.

"IRS 19". Instruction Indications.

For adults and children older than three months, the drug is prescribed as a prophylaxis of chronic pathologies of the bronchi and upper respiratory tract. Aerosol "IRS 19" instruction allows use in the treatment of chronic and acute diseases, such as tracheitis, sinusitis, rhinitis, laryngitis, bronchitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis and others associated with the bronchi and upper respiratory tract. In addition, the drug is indicated in preparation for planned surgical interventions on ENT organs and in the postoperative period.

"IRS 19". Instruction Dosage.

One dose of the drug is equal to a short press of the atomizer.

For preventive purposes, children (from three months) and adults are prescribed in each nostril at a dose twice a day for fourteen days. It is recommended to start the course two to three weeks before the likely rise in incidence.

In the treatment of acute and chronic pathologies in the bronchi and upper respiratory tract, patients are prescribed: from three months to three years in each nostril at a dose of the drug twice, for patients older than three years, as well as adults, the dose of the drug is injected into each nostril from two to five times. The treatment course continues until the signs of infection disappear. The introduction of the drug is recommended after preliminary cleansing of the mucous discharge (blowing).

In the preoperative and postoperative period, children and adults are prescribed one dose twice a day in each nostril for two weeks. The course is recommended to start a week before the planned surgical intervention.

Immediately before applying the aerosol, the nozzle should be put on the cylinder, centered, gently, effortlessly pressed. After these manipulations, the drug can be used.

With the introduction of "IRS 19", the instruction recommends holding the bottle strictly upright. In this case, the patient should not throw his head back. When tilting the balloon, propellant (a spray aid) may leak and the product will thus become unusable.

With regular use, it is not recommended to remove the nozzle.

In the absence of use for a long period, an outlet in the nozzle may become clogged. As a rule, this happens when it (the nozzle) is removed and placed in the packaging with the top edge down, without rinsing or drying it beforehand. In this case, before the introduction of the aerosol, several clicks should be made in a row. In this case, the fluid must pass under the influence of excessive pressure. If this does not happen, the nozzle should be immersed in warm water for several minutes.

Before using the medication, it is necessary to consult a doctor and carefully study the instructions in order to avoid undesirable consequences.
