Violations of the immune system of the human body can lead to various malfunctions. A huge number of people fully experience such violations in the form of allergic reactions to various, sometimes even unexpected substances. This can be food, detergents, animal hair, perfumes and cosmetics.
What is an allergy?
What is an allergy, and with what means can a patient be relieved with this ailment? First of all, it should be noted that such reactions of the body can occur in mild or severe form, the so-called anaphylactic shock is especially dangerous. In this case, only a qualified specialist can help the patient.

Statistics say that every fifth person is allergic to a particular substance and the incidence is increasing every year. Describing this ailment in ordinary words, doctors say that this is a kind of function of protecting the body against the potential danger of the external environment. But why it happens that the immune system does not quite correctly recognize ordinary substances, mistaking them for antigens, is still unclear to science, therefore, so far no radical method has been found to combat such malfunctions in the body. Immunity, being a complex system, has memory, as a result of which every contact with an allergen ends equally. Antibodies that the immune system prepares in response to the invasion of an already familiar and dangerous substance, in her opinion, will be released into the bloodstream every time, which will affect the state of the whole organism. Someone has a rash, someone has a nasopharyngeal congestion, and someone carries these conditions very hard.
Generations of Antihistamines
Like many other medicines, antihistamines are divided into generations.
- The first generation is characterized by a strong, but short-term effect (up to 8 hours) with severe lethargy and even drowsiness, with a lot of side effects. These include: Diphenhydramine, Suprastin, Diazolin and Tavegil.
- The second generation has almost no effect on the nervous system, however, after their use, special attention should be paid to monitoring the work of the heart. These are drugs like Claritin and Fenistil.
- The third generation of antihistamines has virtually no side effects and does not affect either the heart or the nervous system. The first of these drugs, experts allocate "Erius", analogues of this tool "Zirtek" and "Telfast".
"Erius" in the treatment of allergies
In cases with a mild form of allergic manifestations, a drug such as Erius will help. Analogues of such an antihistamine will also do the job well. The main component of the Erius preparation is desloratadine. Within three hours after administration, the drug reaches its maximum concentration in the body, which allows you to quickly relieve the patient's condition. The medicine has two forms of release: tablets (starting at twelve years old) and syrup (from six months of age). The action of the drug is aimed at relieving inflammation and reducing the allergic reaction by blocking tissue edema, muscle spasm and reducing capillary permeability, which eliminates itching and rashes.
When applied
The drug "Erius", analogues of which can be found on the shelves of almost every pharmacy, is prescribed for allergic rhinitis with nasal congestion, sneezing, swelling of the palate, coughing, tearing and itching in the nose and eyes, as well as urticaria. Among the advantages of the drug, along with quick action, experts note the fact that taking the medicine does not depend on food intake and does not cause drowsiness or lethargy, like most antihistamines. Particular attention is paid in the instructions to the point that fatty foods and grapefruit juice are in no way able to affect the distribution of the active component of the Erius preparation.
Instructions for use
Analogs of this drug can be identical in composition or synonyms, having another active substance with a similar effect. In one case or another, you need to carefully read the instructions, since the same medicine is not always taken according to the same scheme.
As for the "Erius", it is taken once a day. As already mentioned, for children there is a syrup that is given to a child of 6-11 months at 2.0 ml per day. For children from 1 year to 5 years, the dose is 2.5 ml. At the age of 6 to 11 years, the drug is taken in 5.0 ml per day. For adolescents starting from 12 years old and adults, the drug is prescribed 1 tablet per day. The period of admission can continue all the time the patient contacts the allergen, which is important enough for people who respond to the flowering of any plants.
The identical analogue of "Erius"
“Lordestine” is a drug that can replace the Belgian product “Erius”, if for some reason it is necessary to choose a good analogue. The manufacturers of this medicine say that it begins to act 30 minutes after administration and guarantee protection against the manifestation of allergic reactions in the form of skin rashes or nasal congestion for 24 hours. This analogue of the Erius tablets also consists of desloratadine, which makes it identical. With the same composition, the preparations are "Eden", "Claritin", therefore, when replacing the product due to intolerance to the active component, it is necessary to consider drugs with a different composition. In fact, Lordestine is an identical and cheaper analogue of Erius.
Synonyms of the drug
If there is a particular sensitivity to desloratadine, then the replacement of this medication should be selected among its synonyms. So, for example, “Zodak” can be used as a good analogue of “Erius” syrup. This drug consists of cetirizine dihydrochloride and excipients. The action of this medicine is also aimed at blocking allergic reactions, including swelling of the nasopharynx and skin rashes in the form of urticaria. Reception is made once a day, the action, depending on the characteristics of the body, begins in the range of 20-60 minutes after use and persists throughout the day, without causing lethargy and sleepy state. In addition to the tablet form and syrup, Zodak is available in drops, which makes it even more versatile, but you can take it starting from 1 year. This tool should be taken carefully with diseases of the kidneys and liver, since it has a lot of side effects. There are restrictions on the use of drugs by pregnant and lactating women.
Cheap antihistamines
In addition to the described drugs, there are cheaper antihistamines, but unlike the Erius drug, analogues like Suprastin and Diazolin act on the nervous system, which manifests itself in drowsiness and a delayed reaction. As a rule, such drugs are not prescribed for long-term use. Pediatricians often recommend taking these medications before vaccination as a prophylaxis for a vaccine allergy. And according to the reviews of mothers, this procedure helps kids easier to reschedule a planned event.
"Suprastin" does not have a child form of release, although it is used for children from birth, and injection solutions are used exclusively as an ambulance. Therefore, when prescribing the drug to an infant, the doctor indicates which part of the tablet should be diluted with water and given to the child. It should be noted that the drug has a sedative effect.
“Diazolin" does not cause drowsiness so much and is available not only in tablets, but also in dragees with a sweet shell with a children's dosage.
