Medication "Mucosat" refers to instructions for use chondroprotective, anti-inflammatory drugs. The main ingredient - chondroitin sulfate - is a high molecular weight polysaccharide that inhibits tissue resorption in the bones and reduces the loss of calcium ions. The Mukosat medicine improves the metabolism of phosphorus and calcium cartilage tissues , accelerates their recovery processes, and prevents compression and degeneration of connective tissue. Due to the ability to restrain the activity of cartilage-damaging enzymes and stimulate the process of combining glycosaminoglycans, chondroitin helps to regenerate the cartilage surfaces and bags of the joint, increases the production of synovial fluid.
Indications for use of Mukosat
The instructions for use explain that the drug is prescribed in the course of treatment of diseases of the joints and spine of a degenerative-dystrophic nature (with osteoarthrosis affecting large joints, primary arthrosis, intervertebral osteoarthritis). Also used medication for fractures, periodontopathy, osteoporosis. The use of the Mukosat medication (instructions for use indicate this) is effective during the rehabilitation of patients after joint operations.
Release form and composition
A medication is produced in the form of an injection solution for intramuscular administration, 1 ml of which contains chondroitin sulfate in an amount of 100 mg, as well as in the form of tablets and capsules containing 250 mg of chondroitin sulfate in one piece.
Method of use
Intramuscularly administered and taken orally, the drug "Mucosat". When using the product in the form of tablets, it is indicated to take 0.75 grams twice a day for three weeks, then 0.5 grams twice a day. Pills and capsules "Mukosat" daily instructions for use in children advises to take in the amount of 0.25 grams, from one to five years - 0.5 grams, from five years - 0.5-0.75 grams. Intramuscularly, the drug is administered every other day in an amount of 0.1 grams. After the 4th injection, increase the dose to 0.2 grams. The course of therapy involves 25-35 injections. If necessary, after half a year the treatment course can be repeated. It should be noted that when using this medication, the clinical effect occurs slowly, but it continues for several months.
Side effects
There is a risk of allergic reactions during the use of the drug. When applying it in the form of a solution, hemorrhages may occur at the injection site. In case of development of negative side effects, the medication must be canceled. With the combined use of drugs and indirect anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, fibronolytics, the effect of the latter is enhanced, therefore, this combination requires regular monitoring of blood coagulation.
Contraindications
People with a tendency to thrombophlebitis and bleeding, as well as those who have individual hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the medication, are not prescribed the “Mucosat” remedy. The injection form of the drug is not used to treat children. The drug is contraindicated in pregnant and breast-feeding women, since there is no data on the safety of its use in these periods.
