More recently, Russian musician Anton Belyaev and his band Therr Maitz were known and loved only in a narrow circle of like-minded people. Now the whole country knows about them. Their music inspires something new and unusual, awakens to creativity. Thanks to their participation in the national project āThe Voiceā, Anton Belyaev and Therr Maitz became popular favorites. In this article, we will take a closer look at the group leader.
The roots of the artist
The parents of a successful musician, producer and TV presenter are far from the world of show business. Antonās father, Vadim Borisovich Belyaev, was born on December 4, 1946 in the city of Saratov, and for almost his entire life worked as a computer engineer in a computer center. The artistās mother, Alfina Sergeevna Belyaeva (maiden name Konishcheva), was born on January 30 in 1949 in the village of Zharbulak in Kazakhstan. She studied at the geological college, and also received a diploma from the pedagogical institute. She worked as a programmer and teacher of computer science.
The future spouses met in Kazakhstan, and in 1962 they moved to Magadan with their parents. At the beginning of 1968 they got married, and already in November of that year they had their firstborn - daughter Lilia, Anton's elder sister. Lilia is a graduate of the Khabarovsk Institute of Culture, works as a bibliographer. On September 18, 1979, another joyful event occurred in the Belyaev family - a son was born, who was named Anton.
The beginning of the creative path
From childhood, Anton Belyaev was a musical child. His first drum kit consisted of Momās kitchen utensils - pots, lids and spoons. Parents immediately noticed the sonās talent, so at the age of five they took him to a music school. Apparently, he no longer had the strength to endure his kitchen concerts.
Anton really wanted to learn to play the drums, but unfortunately, children from nine years old were engaged in drums. He had no choice but to master the piano. Despite the fact that the boy often missed classes due to illness, he participated in almost all music competitions and even received awards for prizes.
Difficult teenager and music
Anton was a very problematic child, a real bully. His parents pretty much suffered from his youthful tricks. The only thing that saved him from the adverse influence of the street was music.
When the future artist was thirteen, he met Chernonog Eugene, the owner of a jazz studio, who invited the young man to his classes. At the age of fourteen, Belyaev played jazz compositions with famous Magadan musicians, and at sixteen he became part of the youth jazz orchestra.
From the English gymnasium No. 17, where Anton studied, he was expelled. He had to finish the ninth grade at school No. 29. He did not see any reason to study further, so he decided to enter the Magadan School of Music at the piano department. But there he did not last long - he was expelled for absenteeism.
Life in Khabarovsk
In 1997, Anton finally received a certificate of secondary education in Magadan gymnasium No. 30, and then thanks to his soulful playing the piano, which was so admired by local teachers. After that, at the insistence of his mother, Anton went to Khabarovsk, where he entered the pop-jazz department of the KHIIK.
At first, the guy was easy to study, he even received an increased scholarship. Nevertheless, he did not see the point in rubbing his pants in the classroom, so he almost immediately got a job. Anton Belyaev, whose biography is filled with extraordinary acts and decisions, went to work as a musician in one of the clubs in Khabarovsk to the detriment of his studies.
The beginning of a career as a producer
In 2004, Anton was appointed to the post of art director of the Rus club. There, the musician gathered talented guys into one team. Its part was Dmitry Pavlov (guitar), Maxim Bondarenko (bass), Evgeny Kozhin (drums), Konstantin Drobitko (trumpet). At the same time, Anton begins to write music, which will subsequently become the basis for the repertoire of the group Therr Maitz that he created. So Anton Belyaev took his first steps in the field of show business.
Moscow was already waiting for a talented musician. In 2006, Belyaev moved to the capital and began cooperation as an arranger with such eminent Russian pop stars as Tamara Gverdtsiteli, Igor Grigoryev, Polina Gagarina, Elka, Nikolai Baskov, Maxim Pokrovsky and others. The work of the arranger brought its financial results, but the artist was always attracted by high-quality music, which in Russia belongs to the category of underground music. In Moscow, the musician meets the guys whom he invites to an already formed collective, and launches a project called Therr Maitz.
In 2011, the group of Anton Belyaev begins active concert activity in the clubs of Moscow.
"Vote"
Therr Maitz had their audience, loyal fans and connoisseurs of their work, but still the guys, and in particular their creator and frontman Anton Belyaev, wanted more. In 2013, the musical project āVoice-2ā was launched. Anton Belyaev decided to go to the casting. For him, it was a good opportunity to declare himself and his team, to acquaint the masses with high-quality and deep music.
To participate in the casting, Anton prepared a very beautiful Chris Isaac song āWicked Gameā and was able to sing it so that in the first seconds of his performance all the judges wanted to work with him further. Anton did not expect such a turn of events, the fact that he would have to choose among mentors. Among the four producers - Dima Bilan, Pelagia, Alexander Gradsky, Leonid Agutin - was the one with whom the musician wanted to work the most. He chose Leonid Agutin. Together with this mentor, Anton managed to reach the semi-finals of the competition. The audience remembered for a long time how, at the New Yearās concert of Channel One, two Voices contestants - Anton Belyaev and Vadim Azarh - presented their number . They sang the song āBlurred linesā flawlessly. This number lit up the audience and brought its bright colors to the New Year performance.
Features of the show "Voice"
Anton Vadimovich Belyaev admitted to the press that he planned to participate in the first season of āVoicesā and even got to the casting. But Belyaev did not go further, because he was afraid that he would lose his uniqueness, that he would be broken and he would become like all the other Russian pop artists. He was also worried that a lot of people who listened to Therr Maitz would be disappointed in their idols.
Before the second season of the project, Anton reviewed all issues in order to analyze the show for honesty and correctness. After making sure that the project was really worthwhile, he still decided to take part in it.
After the performance, the artist told the press about some of the nuances of the show, which are not visible to the viewer from the television screen. According to him, there are no random people on the Voice, the so-called amateur singers - only professional performers who want to tell the world about themselves participate in the project. All participants undergo pre-casting, as a result of which only 140 people are allowed to listen to judges. All the compositions that are performed on the first air are not accidental either - their mentors and vocal teachers help to select their participants. It is also interesting that even before the first performance, all artists get to know each other and communicate with the judges. Belyaev is sure that the viewer generally sees less than fifty percent of everything that happens on the show.
As for the atmosphere inside the project, the artist calls it very friendly. There are no scandals and clashes that illuminate for the viewer. All this is done for intrigue and to foment public interest. In fact, all the participants are intelligent people and are very nice to each other.
Attitude to Glory
Attractive young man with a charming smile in an elegant suit with an amazingly beautiful voice - what else does the public need? Sosem is not surprising that Anton Belyaev woke up as a celebrity after the broadcast of the Voice show. He admits that he went to the project precisely for this, for the sake of the fame of his group, but did not expect such an effect. The artist is even a little upset that he now canāt just walk along the street and calmly get a haircut at the hairdresser. He is haunted by fans everywhere.
But the main goal of the singer, producer and just a lover of quality music has been achieved - the country is interested in his work. In April of this year, Therr Maitz released their second album. And on May 15, their first enchanting solo concert will be held at the Arena Moscow night club. The musicians plan to see more than 3,500 thousand people at their performance.
Personal life
In 2012, unfortunately fans, Belyaev tied the knot. The artistās wife was Julia Aleksandrovna Markova, who was originally from the city of Szekesfehervar, one of the most important settlements of the Hungarian Peopleās Republic. Julia graduated from the Faculty of Journalism at Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov. She began her career in the publication āEvening Moscowā, later worked as a correspondent and TV presenter of the channels āMuz-TVā, āChannel Oneā, āDTVā, āRussian Music Boxā. Currently, Anton Belyaev and his wife not only live, but also work together. Julia is the director of Therr Maitz and part-time editor of the Europe-Plus TV channel.
