Vulvitis in girls is a gynecological disease, which is characterized by the inflammatory process of the vulva. This disease occurs in young girls (up to 8 years old) during the hormonal rest period of the body.
The main reasons for the development of vulvitis in girls are dysbiosis of the genitourinary system and intestines, insufficient observance of the rules of intimate hygiene, ovarian hypofunction, impaired aeration of the reproductive canals, mechanical damage to the mucous membrane, etc.
Of course, getting an infection is the most common reason why girls begin to vulvitis. Conventionally pathogenic organisms (staphylococci, streptococci, Escherichia coli), pathogenic pathogens of genital tract infections (chlamydia, gonococcus, trichomonads) and others are considered to be known pathogens of infection. This may be due to childbirth (via infected birth canal from mother to daughter) or acquisition after birth. Primary infection occurs when a foreign body enters the girl’s vagina, when worms are detected, when the reactivity of the child’s body changes.
As a rule, vulvitis in girls is divided into three stages: acute, subacute and chronic. Acute vulvitis lasts no more than a month, subacute - up to 3 months, and chronic exceeds this period of time. Depending on the stage, the necessary treatment is selected. Of course, you should initially get rid of the unpleasant symptoms that bother the child. The acute and subacute forms are accompanied by a burning sensation of the genitals, the appearance of itching and various discharge. These are the most common symptoms that characterize vulvitis. How to treat, the doctor determines, since the degree of hyperemia and the individual characteristics of the child's body are taken into account.
The appearance of puffiness and pain indicates that chronic vulvitis develops in children. Treatment involves the use of drugs to kill pathogens and restore microflora. As a rule, these are various creams, ointments, antifungal agents, etc.
Local treatment of the external genital organs of the child, through which the infection gets, is also required. Daily procedures include a thorough intimate toilet, regular douching (using an antiseptic solution), lotions (with eucalyptus, furatsilinom), baths (with the addition of decoctions of herbs, potassium permanganate solution).
In some cases, the disease in the first year of life of the girl leads to the fact that there is synechia of the labia minora. Synechia is a process of gradual lip fusion, which entails negative consequences and the need for specialist surgical intervention
Allergic vulvitis is quite common, in which it is necessary to take antihistamines and exclude a possible allergen from the diet (with food allergies). As a rule, the children's body requires some protection against various infections and diseases. The state of the immune system affects the degree of protection, therefore it is advisable to strengthen the immune system with the help of various vitamin complexes and dietary supplements.
It is much easier to prevent the occurrence of vulvitis, so you should teach the girl to follow the rules of personal intimate hygiene, accustom her to a healthy and active lifestyle, systematically observing a specialist in order to eliminate possible foci of infection in time. The general condition and reproductive function of an adult woman's body depends on the health of the reproductive system at an early age.
