The main character, Robin Griffin, is a policeman specializing in crimes of a sexual nature against children. She returned to her hometown from Sydney, where she lived recently. Almost immediately, the local police contact her to help them investigate such a difficult matter.
It would seem that the town is quiet and calm, but as the plot develops, it becomes clear that Evil dominates in it, which fills the series with mysticism.

The key character, a female detective from Sydney named Robin Griffin, is performed by the talented American actress Elizabeth Moss, also known for such works as “The Handmaid's Tale” and “Mad Men”. By the way, she brilliantly coped with such a complex dramatic role.
The role of Sergeant Al Parker was taken by David Wenham, who also starred in projects such as 300 Spartans, Van Helsing and Leo. His character in the series is a follower of traditional crime investigation methods.

She also wants to find and meet her daughter, whom she gave to the orphanage. She is now 17 years old, and she got in touch with a "bad" company. She meets a man who is 42 years old, his nickname is Puss, and he lives in a brothel called "Silk 41".

After 4 years, after the end of the first season, the second finally came out. A big plus of the new season was the fact that the creators managed to take the same actress for the main role.
In fact, some old actors, whose characters were represented in the second season, as well as new ones, starred in it, and the cast remained still excellent.
In the role of R. Griffin is still the same E. Moss. Of the new actors, one can distinguish: G. Christie in the role of Miranda Hilmarson, David Densik (Alex “Puss” Brown), E. Englert (Mary Edwards) and, of course, Nicole Kidman (J. Edwards).
