Karl Pavlovich Bryullov is one of the most famous artists, painters, monumental painters , watercolors, draftsmen and representatives of the academicism of the 19th century. In 1822 he was seconded to Italy in order to raise funds from the Society for the Promotion of Artists.
Karl Bryullov painted the painting "The Horsewoman. Portrait of Amalitsa Pacini and Giovannina, pupils of Countess Yu. P. Samoilova" (often called the Amazon) in 1832.
