How to make a Minecraft cake: step by step instructions with photos

Minecraft is a game in which you can explore, create, discover, mine and create the whole world. The game requires patience to build something. And this Minecraft cake is no exception, because to create it you have to collect 1280 tiny squares from the mastic to get the 3D Minecraft logo. But mind you, it's worth it!

Minecraft cake recipe

First you need to bake the cake itself. You can use the finished mixture, or if you prefer homemade, then try either the recipe for the chocolate cake below, or any other to your taste. Depending on the depth of your roasting pan, you will have to bake two or three square cakes, and then stack them on top of each other, smearing with any cream of your choice. In the end, you should get a cube that you turn into the Minecraft cake shown in the photo.

Minecraft cake

A cake measuring 15 cm x 15 cm was prepared for this recipe.

Trim the edges of the cakes to get a square shape. It will be a little smaller than your template. Then coat the Minecraft cake with cream (for the cream recipe, see below).

Use a paper towel to smooth the sides and sharpen the corners.

You can buy ready-made mastic or make it yourself according to the recipe below. Then you will need to color it in green, brown, gray. You will need approximately 200 g of each color (if there are more colors, then the amount of mastic of each color will decrease).

Prepare the template in advance as shown in the photo. Cover it with baking paper and roll out one of the mastic colors on it. Using a pizza cutter, cut the sheet into even squares. Repeat with each of the prepared colors.

Minecraft Cake Template

Take another piece of baking paper and lightly grease with butter or margarine, remove the excess with a paper towel. Place it on your template and fasten the edges with adhesive tape in the desired position. Then, on the line, lay out the previously obtained squares. Do not forget that the top of the sides and the top of the cube should be green.

Minecraft cake assembly

Lightly damp the mastic with a brush. Put baking paper on something hard but thin, such as cardboard. Bring the bottom edge to the base of the cake, and then lift the sheet with mastic and attach to the side. Remove the cardboard, and then carefully remove the baking paper. It is not necessary to grease the upper green section with water, put the sheet on the cardboard and turn it upside down, then slide the cardboard to the side. Repeat for each remaining side of the Minecraft cake.

Minecraft cupcakes

If you have mastic left, you can make more squares and use on the remains of the cakes. As a result, you will get a wonderful set of cupcakes and Minecraft cake.
