"Amlodipine": instructions for use. We fight with angina pectoris

Angina pectoris is a disease that is most often experienced by people of advanced age. The main symptoms are pain in the region of the heart caused by insufficient blood supply to the heart muscle.

Modern medicine has taken a significant step towards treating angina pectoris. One of the ways to combat the disease is the drug Amlodipine. Instructions for use say that it helps to relax the smooth muscles of the heart, increase the flow of oxygen to the myocardium and lower blood pressure. The action of the drug is based on the blocking of class II calcium channels, which helps to reduce peripheral vascular resistance.

The main active ingredient of the drug Amlodipine is the instructions for use called amlodipine besylate. As excipients, the tablet contains potato starch, lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, calcium stearate and magnesium stearate.

Amlodipine is a white tablet with a flat-cylindrical shape with a beveled edge. Available in quantities of 10, 20 and 30 pieces in a package with a mass fraction of amlodipine besylate 5 mg and 10 mg.

In addition to the already mentioned angina (both stable and unstable), Amlodipine is indicated for use in patients with diagnoses:

  • arterial hypertension;
  • Prinzmetal angina pectoris;
  • coronary heart disease;
  • increased resistance to treatment with nitrates or beta-blockers.

Before you start using Amlodipine tablets, the instructions for use should be carefully studied, since there are a sufficient number of restrictions under which the use of the drug is strictly not recommended:

  • the presence of allergic reactions to derivatives of the hydrodynamic;
  • pregnancy and lactation (except in cases where the intended benefits of treatment for the mother are higher than the possible harm to the fetus);
  • low blood pressure;
  • acute myocardial infarction;
  • state of shock.

With caution, the drug should be taken in the following cases:

  • heart failure;
  • unstable angina pectoris;
  • impaired liver function;
  • severe aortic stenosis;
  • childhood.

The drug should be taken 1 time per day with a volume of 5 mg. On the recommendation of the attending physician, the dose should be increased to 10 mg maximum.

It should also be noted that Vero Amlodipine (the instructions for use of the drug corresponds to the instructions for Amlodipine) in use with calcium channel blocker drugs can cause a decrease in blood pressure to below normal levels. The same effect occurs with the simultaneous use of medication with means for inhalation anesthesia. The simultaneous use of lithium carbonate and the drug Amlodipine also does not recommend instructions for use, because high risk of neurotoxic reactions such as nausea, vomiting, tinnitus and tremor of the extremities. Indomethacin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs reduce the hypotensive effect of Amlodipine.

The course of use of the drug must be accompanied by medical supervision, as the list of possible side effects is very wide:

  • peripheral edema, heart palpitations. If the dose is exceeded - arrhythmia, shortness of breath, arterial hypotension ;
  • nausea, pain in the abdomen, a high probability of pancreatitis, jaundice;
  • dizziness, fatigue, increased drowsiness, headache;
  • allergic reactions in the form of rashes and itching;
  • frequent mood swings ;
  • swelling of the ankles;
  • visual disturbance.

Store amplodipine instructions for use advises in a dry place at a temperature not exceeding 25 ^, inaccessible to children.
