The wait was long. Brain's debut in the movie only happened in 1992. He starred in the role of Chekhov in the film "Stone". And he got this role, too, by accident. Vera Novikova, the second director of the film, was a longtime friend of Mozgovoy, and just on the eve of the samples they met and talked. Vera invited Leonid to meet with the main director A. Sokurov. Their conversation lasted more than two hours, as a result, a film debut took place.

After the premiere, the 51-year-old actor was called the discovery. But the directors were in no hurry to invite him to other roles. His next film was the painting "Moloch", the director of which was again Sokurov.

Brain got the role of Hitler. He prepared for a long time, re-read a ton of books, reviewed the newsreels kilometers. The difficulty was that the role had to be played in German. Mozgovoy thoroughly learned all the cues, and the Germans, who duplicated it, said that the pronunciation of the Russian actor was perfect.

Two years later, another picture of Sokurov came out - "Taurus", where Mozgovoy played Lenin. This film showed the viewer a completely different leader of the proletariat. The director and actor literally laid bare the soul of an old dying man who repents of his deed.

Mozgovoy’s cinematic piggy bank has only 24 works. This does not upset the actor, but rather the opposite - he is pleased with the quality of his films. And he knows that his viewer approves of what has been done and is looking forward to new roles.
