Lisa Kholodenko was born on June 5, 1964 in the American city of Los Angeles. Based on the surname of our heroine, it is easy to guess about her Ukrainian roots. At the beginning of the twentieth century, Lisa's grandfather crossed the ocean, intending to provide a better future for his own children. In those troubled times, many Ukrainians went to Canada. However, the man decided to settle in Los Angeles, or rather, in his suburb - San Fernando. It was here that Lisa Kholodenko’s childhood passed.
Education, our heroine received at the prestigious University of California, which is located in the city of San Francisco. As a student, she dreamed of making a serious movie. The girl realized that nothing was given in vain in the industry presented, and immediately took up the mind.
Soon, Lisa was accepted into the workshop of the cult director Milos Forman - the author of the legendary film "Flying Over the Cuckoo's Nest." It was difficult for the girl to imagine the best teacher. Moreover, Milos once emigrated to the United States, as did the grandfather of our heroine. Career start
Under the guidance of Milos Forman, a young student began to take the first steps to success, developing her own authorial style. In the last courses of the university, Lisa Kholodenko received the position of assistant editor in several films. After a rather successful start, Lisa Kholodenko devoted herself for a long time to work on creating multi-series television projects. Many critics were perplexed why such a gifted director was shooting pictures with a straightforward plot.
Finally, in 2010, our heroine responded to all ill-wishers, returning to the big movie with the tape "Kids are OK." A touching tragicomedy in which such Hollywood stars as Mark Ruffalo, Mia Vasikowska and Julianne Moore played, narrated about the life of two lesbians and their relationship with their child’s father. The film came out both dramatic and funny. Later, the work was awarded a nomination for an Oscar and Golden Globe. After such a resounding success, the director was struck by the most numerous proposals for cooperation from eminent film companies.
