Blastocysts - what is it? They are the simplest microorganisms that are in the body of every person, without causing him any harm. With an increase in their number in the intestinal cavity, a disease develops - blastocystosis. It manifests itself with certain symptoms and is subject to medical treatment.
Blastocysts - what is it?
These microorganisms normally live in the human intestine. But with a decrease in immune defense or the development of diseases of the digestive system, they can multiply and cause the development of protozoal infections.
Despite the fact that blastocysts have been known for quite some time, they have been extensively studied only recently, and there are still many questions and uncertainties. Previously, studies of the effect of this microorganism on a living organism were carried out on domestic or wild animals, especially the effect was manifested in the case of poor immune defense.
Thus, to date, with the help of laboratory studies, it has been proved that the blastocyst is a direct cause of the development of pathological phenomena in the human intestine.
Blastocyst classification
Blastocysts in an adult are classified. These microorganisms can have a different spatial form:
- Vacuolar - with a diameter of 5-20 microns, has up to four nuclei, in the center of the cell is a vacuole in which nutrients are accumulated and stored, all the elements of the cell are in the cytoplasmic layer.
- Avacuolar - predominate in the large intestine, have a cell diameter of up to 5 microns, so they are often not found in laboratory studies. Not susceptible to active movement, as a result of which they adhere strongly to the intestinal wall. Outside it is very quickly destroyed.
- Multivacuolar - is a grouped avacuolar forms of microorganisms, has several vacuoles, there is no centered vacuole. They have a dense shell that protects against adverse effects.
- Granular - in structure, they are similar to vacuolar, however, inclusions of myelin-like fibers, glycogen, and lipids appear in their cytoplasm. Most scientists are inclined to conclude that granulation of the cytoplasm indicates the imminent destruction of the microorganism.
When exposed to the cell under adverse conditions, it is able to fall into a state of cysts with a dense protective multilayer membrane.
Symptoms of Blastocystosis
The most common manifestations of blastocystosis are:
- skin rashes, especially accompanied by itching;
- cramping in the intestine;
- lack of appetite;
- nausea and vomiting;
- diarrhea;
- fever;
- a sharp decrease in body weight.
The manifestation of symptoms depends on the overall resistance of the body. With a weakening of the defenses, the symptoms become more pronounced and stronger. In some cases, symptoms may be absent, that is, a person will not even know about the presence of such pathogenic microorganisms in the intestine.
Important! The cause of blastocyst infection can be the use of unwashed vegetables and fruits, non-observance of personal hygiene and the use of dirty water.
After entering the body, the cell passes to the large intestine and multiplies in it, passing its life cycle. The vital products of blastocysts, entering the blood, can cause intoxication of the body, which is more manifested by damage to the skin. Even if there is a blastocyst in the stool in an adult, the symptoms of the disease may not appear, but proceed in a weakened or latent form. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly take tests and undergo the necessary examinations.
Diagnosis of the disease
For an accurate determination of the presence of blastocysts in the feces in an adult, a laboratory study is necessary. The studied product must be provided to health workers as soon as possible after defecation, since cells quickly die outside the human body.
Blastocysts in the feces are detected by microscopic examination using an immersion lens. PCR testing is also often performed. Using this reaction, it is possible to determine the presence of pathogenic organism DNA in the feces.
Disease treatment
To neutralize the development of pathogenic organisms, antimicrobial agents are used to destroy the blastocyst. What it is? An antimicrobial drug affects the vital activity of unicellular protozoa, destroying the structure of the cell and disrupting its vital activity, as a result of which the cell quickly dies.
In addition to antibacterial drugs, medicines that increase the body's defenses and restore microbial balance in the human intestines are mandatory.
Hygiene must be observed regularly to avoid blastocysts. What it is? You can eat only washed products and purified water. In this case, the hands should also always be clean.
