The Tolstoy Drama Theater (Lipetsk) has been around for almost a hundred years. Here, both adults and children will find an interesting setting for themselves. The repertoire is designed for viewers of all ages and various interests.
Theater History
The Drama Theater on the Falcon (Lipetsk) was opened in 1921. The first troupe was instructed to recruit E.N. Lavrov, an instructor of the district people's image. He invited actors and directors from Moscow to the newly created theater. The repertoire of that time included plays by N.V. Gogol, A.N. Ostrovsky and others.
In 1923 the theater was closed. Since 1925, artists from other cities who came to Lipetsk on tour performed in his building in the summer.
A new troupe was formed in 1931. Drama Theater (Lipetsk) was born again. In the late 30s. The troupe’s repertoire included plays by Soviet playwrights. Including there were many works of Lipetsk authors.
During the war, many actors went to defend their homeland. The rest spoke to the fighters. The theater traveled to the front-line territories of Voronezh, Bryansk, Stalingrad.
The years 60-70s were golden for the Lipetsk drama. He became popular, in demand, artists were invited to various events. The repertoire included performances that did not leave the stage for a long time.
In the 80s, the theater did a great job on the moral and aesthetic education of the younger generation. This brought him fame and made famous in our country and far beyond its borders.
In 1985, the team was awarded the K.S. State Prize Stanislavsky for the high level of his productions.
Today, the theater continues its best traditions. In 2003, with him, a course of students of GITIS, the acting department, was recruited. All graduates were hired by the troupe.
Since 2008, the director of the team is Lyudmila Dolzhikova.

"Theater Meetings"
The Drama Theater (Lipetsk) conducts serious educational activities. Its main component is the Lipetsk Theater Meetings festival. It has been held annually for 30 years. Writers, philologists, artists, theater experts, directors, art critics, and critics come to the festival from all over the world. Within the framework of the project, performances are shown. And also conferences, discussions, etc. are held. Each festival corresponds to any subject.
