early years
Ahn Joon Hee (real name of the director) was born on October 12, 1972 in a city called Busan, which is located in Korea. The boy spent part of his childhood in the largest port of Tuscany - Livorno (Italy). A few years later, the family decided to move to the United States of America.
It was in Texas that the guy graduated from high school in 1990. After completing his studies, Joseph Kahn continued on his own at the Tisch School of the Arts, which operated at the University of New York. But here, too, the young man did not stay long - only two semesters. After one school year, Kahn decided to drop out of school and devote himself entirely to creating music videos.
Career
The director worked the first work with musicians with The Pain Teens, making an excellent video clip for the song The Basement. Later, the guy worked with such popular performers as Willy Nelson, Onyx, Veronica, Public Enemy, Lords of the Underground, Shaquille O , Neil. Since 1995, begins a fruitful period in the life of the director. Joseph collaborates with musical titans of various directions: Ice Cube, Patricia Kaas, Snoop Dogg, Back Street Boys, Brian Adams and others.
On his twenty-seventh birthday, Joseph wanted to please himself with a major step forward, so he opened his own studio, Supermega. Today the company is under the patronage of HIS Productions. This discovery brought Kan many new star partners and friends.
For an unrealistic contribution to the development of musical video art, the director received a number of awards and prizes. For example, for the best video of the year at the MTV Video Music Awards for the clip of Britney Spears Toxic, for the best direction on MTV VMA for the video clip of Eminem for the song Without Me.
